Welcome Dave Clawson - 430PM Presser (Clawson Wins Presser, OGB Gets E-Boners)

I'm good with Clawson. I've heard some really good things about him.

I'm excited at the prospect of hiring the coach who just knocked off the favorite to win the MAC. That is probably a solid hire for our school. I'm somewhat afraid that Wellman was a douchebag with Lembo, and will continue to be a douchebag. In a perfect world Clawson is awesome and Wellman resigns and we get a new AD and new basketball coach.

If Clawson was willing to sign for $300k less than the lowest paid ACC coach (a guy who had no head coaching experience and wasn't really considered an elite coordinator either btw) then I'd be pretty concerned about him having some skeletons in his closet.

To put it simply, I wouldn't want a head coach, in football or basketball, who would sign a contract with a high major conference for $1M / year.

Notre Dame pays it's football coach 1M.
 
Clawson is the sixth lowest paid coach in college football. I would suspect we pay him around 1.2 million. Just pure speculation/guessing on my behalf though.

Have reached out to BGSU AD Chris Kingston tonight and he hasn't responded. If Clawson is gone..he hasn't informed his players yet it seems
 
$100,000 in liquidated damages if he leaves after July 1, 2011 but prior to December 31, 2013 for another college football job.
