Are we starting to sweat a little bit here? Where’s the scoops?
Still early in the process.

In 2023, on this date, we had one portal commit, Boopie. In 2022, on this date, we had no commits (our first commit that year was Ituka on April 25, the rest commited in May). FWIW, players are still entering the portal. Right now, 10 ACC schools have one or zero portal commits. Only L'ville and VT have more than two portal commits, and those schools lost a combined 18 players to the portal.

This is NOT intended as a dig at Pilchard, who I respect as a poster, and remember fondly from our ancient battles under prior user names.

Having said that, the day Pilchard says WFU basketball is fucked beyond hope is the day I start digging a bomb shelter and assembling canned goods.

This is no bueno in regards to our current visitor, William Kyle III.

Seems like all we hear about is their atrocious NIL situation. I mean their football coach declined to coach in the Big 10 to be an OC at a new conference rival.

I thought Pilch is bimodal in his errors -- hopeful about the team, pessimistic about individual players.

You never know when that might flip.

He insisted UVA was at least 50 spots better than JMU this season. They ended up lower in KenPom and NET.

I think we're stuck waiting on a Sallis decision
Well then we're screwed.

I just don't know what Sallis has to gain from coming back another year beyond the NIL money. Putting up similar numbers for a second year isn't going to significantly boost his draft stock, and it'd be really hard to significantly improve upon his numbers from this year. Assuming that his ultimate goal is to be a professional basketball player at the highest level possible, he's going to leave.
