What's the Protocol for Coffee Shops?

good for them their prices are so jacked up it probably doesn't affect them financially. this goes for any coffee shop.

Yep, I never feel guilty about staying to work in a place that provides free wifi. If they want to limit it to a 2-hour internet window per purchase, they can, but they don't, because they want you to stay and buy more food.

I don't like the garbage food at McDonalds, but their coffee is definitely the best coffee out there. (black coffee, not any of that latte bullshit).. Starbucks blows.

7-11 for me. Such a treat.

And this is the attitude that keeps me from going to Panera at 12:15 PM when I won't be able to find a seat. Therefore, their free wifi is costing them business.

Just sit in your car outside and wait for a close-up space. If their signal is decent, you can sit there and surf porn all day long.

I actually studied for the bar almost exclusively in a Panera-like restaurant in Ann Arbor (Grand Traverse Pie Co., for those in the know). Because I was going to spend so much time there, I checked with the manager to make sure it was alright, and he said it was fine. I just couldn't concentrate in my apartment, so I was there from 8am to 4pm for about six weeks. Worked out well for them, too, because although I tried to eat at home as much as possible, I gave in quite frequently and ate their overpriced-yet-delicious food. They must count on this.

In all seriousness, you tap your foot three times on the floor, then find some sort of large grocery bag and head to the handicapped stall. Your guest puts his feet in the bag so you can blow him and people just think you're taking a dump.

I went to simply yummy for the first time in 7 years at Wake today. Great sandwiches. Didn't try their coffee though.
