Wow, that says it all
What's the deal with Mitchell and Washington? Have they ever played? I forgot they were even on the team this year until seeing the roster just now.
i mean what else is he gonna say?
Whew, for a minute I thought coaching might have had something to do with this loss. Thanks for setting the peons straight. Nothing we could have done, guise! Not sure why we bothered to take the court. At different points in the game tonight we tried Wilbekin, Crawford, Woods, and Arians on Kennard. He shot 100% from 3 against all of them.
Duke used whoever Wilbekin was guarding to screen for Kennard a few times, forcing a switch and giving Kennard an open look. So we used Wilbekin to try to deny him the ball and whoever's man screened would switch to challenge a shot. But it ended up being Collins who was picked, not a guard, and he hesitate on the closeout and got stuck doing nothing.
The problem is just Wilbekin being on the floor at all. We're up and need a stop and he's a horrible defender. He gets 26 minutes, makes one shot, gets zero boards, one bullshit assist and one bullshit steal. We don't trust McClinton, fine. They're playing 3 guards so Dinos has nobody he can defend. It's just a fucking shit situation because we have no athletic 3 we can depend on to stop anyone. As was discussed ad-nauseum beforehand, in crunch time it bit us in the ass.
Because it's not a WFU basketball game if some pasty guard doesn't set a career high against us.
DM is an egomaniac. It is always his way and yet never hi fault. Strange

Where's Cornelius Hudson when we need him?
And how is this different from any other head coach?

The last 4 minutes of the northwestern, Clemson and duke games have 1 thing in common. Our best player did not take a shot. Riddle me that????
Duke ran Kennard off 2 or 3 picks every possession. A switch to a 3-2 zone would quickly nullify that strategy. Wake has the personnel to run it well - it would have allowed us to play Collins and Moore down low to rebound better and complete defensive possessions (which was our true Achilles heel at the end of the game). It's usually harder to rebound out of zone, but we were struggling to get defensive rebounds at the end because we were playing small.
