BBall Recruiting Thread 2k17-Chaundee Brown commits to WAKE! Brandon Randolph to AZ

Christian Brown, PF — Brown struggled some with minor injuries but continued to play, anyway, and the baby-faced freshman will be a featured name within the state for the years to come. He’s a broad-shouldered athlete with good hands, straight-up leaping ability, a blue collar style and desire to compete. He may fill out into more of a hybrid forward than a combo — and he needs to improve his shooting — while others disagree with that assessment and believe he’ll evolve into a wing. At any rate, he’s clearly a prospect for high-major programs to track.

A.C. Flora forward Christian Brown caught our eye in drills, so much that I wrote his number on my hand. As luck would have it we caught him in a matchup that pitted him against Juwan Gary on multiple sequences. This matchup was the key one I wanted to see and the young 2019 studs went at one another in a big way. Brown plays with more energy and that paired with the ability to sky and a shot that is adequate he's got a lot of skills that scream at you. Really enjoyed his effort and ability to draw and take contact. Right now I don't know if I'd try to pin a position on him being so young but I can say he's a definite star if he continues to work on facets of his game during these next four seasons. I would expect him and Gary to be national level talents sooner than later. We'll catch up with Brown for an interview this week to see which schools are showing early interest.

Christian Brown, PF — A Columbia, S.C., product, Brown rapidly is making his case one of the best overall freshmen talents in the Southeast. The 6-7 forward is more of a 4/3 right now but could transition into a 3/4 over time. Regardless of his position, Brown is a fine athlete whose understanding of how he can be effective belies his years. He plays with a confidence and maturity that are highly impressive, while of course he must cultivate a more expansive skill set over the next several years. Of course, he also may keep growing and become a true post player, and the only real certainty from here is that he’ll continue adding his name to major conference radars.
