My question at this point for 1 of the insiders is if Chairman Ron is going to be a search committee of 1 again with no oversight from the BOT or Hatch....

Respectfully....again ? Where did you get the belief that Wellman flew solo 4 years ago and will do so again now ? Do you honestly believe that a subcommittee of BOT members to aid/assist/supervise/consult with Wellman doesn't exist ? And do you really think that Hatch isn't directly involved ?

This is a multi-million dollar personnel transaction we're talking about here....someone who will likely be the highest paid individual at the university. Geezes, HATCH wouldn't be permitted to fly solo on this let alone the Director of Athletics !

So the site that originally said there was going to be a press conference now has this comment from the original author up there:

Looks like anything that was going to happen today(Tuesday) will be postponed due to the weather and Ron Wellman extending his NCAA visits out of town at the NCAA game city sites…(Wellman NCAA Tournament Chairman)

They may need more time to figure out how they want to approach this…

Some sort of basketball wisdom tells you that Jeff [Redacted] has to resign to save some face for AD Ron Wellman, the man who went out on a limb and hired [Redacted] in the first place…

They have a very good friendship from over the years and if [Redacted] resigns/steps down, then that takes some of the pressure off of Wellman, who in turn does not have to fire his friend….

Everything that was to be is postponed for today(Tuesday) with the weather and the overall travel conditions….Wake will try to get all of their plans together and when we get more, we will pass it on…

I don’t think this is a resignation ruse, it really is not a matter of if, but when all of this will take place….

If Ron Wellman has to step up and fire Jeff [Redacted] and push his friend out, it will not be pretty…

The move to make is for Jeff [Redacted] to step down and do it in such a way that it does not hurt Wake Forest, or their future basketball plans and so that it keeps their leader, Ron Wellman in place until he is ready to move on too….

That doesn't mean there is NO oversight by the BOT and president in consultation and approvals. They were all involved with this entire mess...from Dino hiring to date.

Weather didn't delay anything, he's gotta stay in Dayton for the opening games tonight.
 
I blame Stratt. Wellman was going to fire Bzd at 11AM and that someone texted him a photo of the billboard and said to himself fuck that maple syrup maple fridge, triple panelled, triple-chinned mother fucker -let me push this bitch to next Tuesday

The most disappointing piece of this is that supposedly "the plan" has been in place for months, yet our AD still can't get their shit straight.

I heard Dearest Leader's dad is sick in Ohio and Dearest Leader is visiting with him.

Well, we know it was not done that way with Clawson, was not done that way with Grobe and was not done that way with Prosser. Dino was more an internal/emergency process. And I know 2 BOT people who were involved with the hoops search 4 years ago.

Wellman had more discretion searching/hiring the coaches for baseball, tennis and women's hoops....but did not fly solo on these either. I forget the name of Wake's lawyer(s) and if we have an in-house legal person. He/she/they get directly into these things at crunch time as well working with a candidate's reps on contract terms and conditions.
