I've never painted my face, but did partially paint my shaved head in high school, so I can't judge.

I don't mind missing out on the duke gig due to money, it's just not the exception. I make good money for what I do, especially for the job I have now since it was conceived of as a part-time job and evening supervision originally and they haven't restructured it despite having over-qualified people in it, but it sucks and I'm just over it. Other library gigs in bigger cities may pay a little more, but not nearly enough to make up cost-of-living. I've applied for a few things here at UNC that would have been nice, but didn't get either for no really good reason. The Cal gig would have to offer me at least 10k more for me to even think I would be able to survive there on my own and have some semblance of social life, I think. That's possible based on their posted range, but I'd still be roughing it relative to now most likely. Guess I'm kind of stuck unless I want to go back to school or take a hefty paycut. I don't know dudes.

It's all good I guess.

I couldn't bring myself to even apply to Duke or UNC for law school.

Did you end up going to law school?

He went to UVA, bro! But then was having trouble finding a good job so he went down to do an LLM at UF. Where he met his now-fiance when she was an undergrad or in nursing school or something! Then he got a job in Atlanta.

Ugh, we've been on these boards too long.

I hired a UF LLM last year....definitely one of my better hires.

it's tough imagining moving back to NC after time in a cool city with lots of amenities, so i understand trying to put that list together

if only charlotte were a decent option

I know people that have lived in both places and Austin and the Raleigh-Durham area are, by all accounts, similar in a lot of ways.

Hmm, interesting opinion. I'm not sure I agree. I've never properly lived in Raleigh though.

If Austin is a lot like Raleigh it's not nearly as cool as people have been making it out to be for the past 20 years.
