2017 NBA Draft thread - JC drafted 19th to Atlanta, OUR... Hawks?

Per JC's own words near the end of the season it was a choice of going to the NBA vs having his number in the rafters in the Joel. For him I doubt his decision was about if he could move up in the draft next year, but is was about whether taking the money was worth giving up his legacy at WFU.

Right. He had two good decisions, that both likely would have made him a ton of money, and he made one.

We've given the pluses for going and the potential minuses for staying. But you reject all of them. As usual only your position is good.

I'm not sure how many times I can say that it was a good decision for JC to go this year for you to finally comprehend it.

I'm aware of the pluses and minuses of him leaving as well as the pluses and minuses of him staying and have acknowledged both on this thread.

I'm just calling bullshit on anyone claiming this was clearly a much better decision than staying and supporting that position with ill conceived arguments.

And I'm aware you are full of shit and arrogant. See we can both this game that you started.

But no one here should ever have an opinion other than you. After all only your positions aren't "ill conceived arguments". I mean the fact that even average players like Austin Rivers can get $13-16M is never predicated on getting PT before your second contract and that this year there were several teams offering JC that immediate PT that may or may not exist if he stayed and gambled a team like the T'wovles, Sixers or Jazz or others might take him and bury him on the bench for three years.

It's totally "ill conceived" to look at who is drafting where, what their needs are to maximize your opportunity for a good second contract versus $3-6M, because you sat on the bench.

Yep, you are so right. You always so right and everyone else always so wrong.

It must be really lonely knowing in your own deluded mind that you are superior to everyone else and can't have any equals to have meaningful discussions with about anything.

I mean there are still some donks salty about CP3 going to the league early, of course they'll be dumb dumbs about JC

Talk of whether or not Collins made a good decision is just silly. He is 19 and is now guaranteed $5 million over the next 3 years. Just for context, that is over forty eight years of salary for me in my current position. I could work my entire career and not make as much money as JC will in 3 years and compared to my peers in my field I make a very good wage. None of us would have turned that money down to do something that we love on the possibility that maybe if we wait a year we'd make few 100k more when there is even a small risk we'd loose everything.

That's a good way to put it, birdman.

I wonder if anybody here has been in the top 19 in the world entering their chosen profession.

LOL. He wasn't even top 19 in his 3L class. He may not have been the top one from his class who posts on these boards.

RJ there are plenty of people on here that I can have meaningful discussions with, who I consider my equal when it comes to rational thought, even a few I consider superior to myself. You are none of those.

Is there anyone questioning whether he made a good decision? I'm honestly asking because I might have missed it. Certainly haven't seen it in the past 10 pages or so.

To your last sentence, I would imagine a healthy portion of posters on this board went to extra school in order to increase our earning potential by 50%, often with a decent risk it wouldn't work out. I recognize that JC's dealing with an extra zero than most of us, and I'm not ruling out the possibility that we were all idiots for making that choice, but even rich people want to make more money if possible.

Sad and douchey is not a not good way for you to go through life, but you are trying to do it.

The points I've made here have been echoed by others, but my name disqualifies it. that's on you not me.

You are pathetic.

At least when palma become arrogant, he has cashing in the Main Event to give him cred. :)

Buckets has that dome, a hot wife and a huge bonus check.

bird is an expert on, well birds, and has succeeded in AL. That alone gives him cred.

But you just have faux internet warrior status. Sad...

Def a top 19 Greensboro ambulance chaser though

Such a dumb term.

PS, this is in no way intended to be a defense of donaldross, and not really a defense of our profession. Just wanted to say that term is lazy and overused.

Would you prefer rehabilitation vehicle chaser?
