Tennis

Were the ESPN announcers talking about Roger playing the US? I'm in Scotland and the BBC guys (Boris Becker, Tim Henman) seemed to imply he was shutting it down for the year several times.

I think he'll do it. He won't play many of the leadups, but I could see him playing Canada and then the U.S. Open. That would still give him about a month off and then a two-week break before the U.S. Open (or he could play Cinci and have a month break, maybe more likely). He has a legit shot at getting back to No. 1, I really doubt he's going to give that up.

Knowing very little about the situation, he already won the Australian this year, seems his main rivals aren't in top form/injured, and he seems to be playing as well as ever. Why wouldn't he be at the US Open?

o doubt he would miss the us open, i think maybe skip some of the other us hard court tourneys though

what is the best way to get tickets to a federer US open match? Just wait until day of and check stub hub when you know the schedule?

Djokovic is out for the rest of the year.

Some expert predicted that if the Djoker doesn't play until the January 2018 Aussie Open, his ranking will fall to around #17 in the world, which would likely mean that he would play a top 4 player in the round of 16 if the seeds held.

His official ranking will be that low for sure. I just assumed he would play on a protected ranking but I do not know the rules for that.

The rules are he must be out for at least 6 months. I would choose to not play until the Australian Open if I was him and play on the protected ranking.

Maybe he's just trying to get that coveted #17 seed that Fed had in the Australian this year.

pretty good match on now between nishi and tommy paul. jim courier is the best color commentator around. we he got more run.

any seating recommendations for Arthur ashe?

Yeah, don't sit there and go watch matches on the outer courts.

In seriousness though, just get the cheapest seats you can. IMO, it's not worth paying a lot more for the 100 level because you're still really high up

Stan done for the season too now? So 2 of the top 5 seeds out for the US. Fed going to be a heavy favorite to win 3/4 grand slams at 35. Crazy

+1. Went for my first and only time 3 years ago. Bought cheap seats and enjoyed being able to go walk around and check out a ton of matches. Was insanely hot but awesome day. Wife was due with our first son almost 2 months later but she asked that I not stay and go 2 days. Went back home after the one day and she had our son about 36 hours later. Haven't been back since because of when it falls for the start of the school year and my sons birthday. Hope to get back some day.

isner delpo tough first round match. as riveting as would be expected.
