2023-24 Wake Forest Basketball Season - 21-14 (11-9) - KP#29 / NET#43

We are the 3rd best team in the ACC, at worst. We need to continue to show up, we will lose a few away games, but this team is extremely good. We beat Bennett at his own game today, we can play with anyone. If we win 3 of our next 4, with 3 being away, we will be ranked. And either 1st or second in ACC probably. 3rd at worst.
 
We're definitely not better than UNC or Duke across the season. We're probably about the same as Clemson. Agreed we are third or fourth best team in the ACC as of right now and we're only improving.

Winning 3 of the next 4 is likely not going to happen. If we win 2, I’ll be pleased.
 
Win Tuesday would be gigantic. Expect state -2.5. Very similar seasons. I do think we are a better team but it’s a road game against in state rival. How we defend burns will dictate if we go to 5-1

The line really will be interesting. 2.5 seems like a lot. If I had to bet on a bet I'd think -1.5. If it isn't -1.5 I'd go pick 'em. However it does seem like Vegas giving a little bit of a home boost the last couple weeks around a point so you very well may be right at 2.5.

Torvik has State -2, KP has Wake -1.

Didn’t see a discussion of this in the game thread, but did anyone else hear Debbie say that Monsanto had practiced recently and that he’s expected back at end of January?

As long as one of the wins is Louisville, 2-2 will be fine and is probably the expectation.

Louisville game is just as important as the UNC game functionally, because as much of a positive impact beating UNC would make, losing to Louisville would be even more negative.
 
Looking at the schedule more closely, the road games are not forgiving. I think 15-5 guarantees a spot and we're at 4-1. That means going 11-4 in 7 home games and 8 road games.

Home 6-1: 5-0 at home vs. Louisville, Cuse, State, Pitt, and Tech and 1-1 vs. Duke and Clemson.

That leaves 5 wins in 8 road games. Let's say 2-0 at sub-100 Tech and ND. But we can pencil in 0-2 at UNC and Duke. So that means 3-1 at State, Pitt, UVA, and VT.

So Tuesday at State isn't MUST win, but not winning that game removes the margin for error.

My Damari understanding which is probably limited is that he’s been shooting around and doing some workouts for a few weeks. Believe there have been a couple practice videos where Damari has been in the background with a ball. I know that’s different than passing strength tests for actual practice but id suspect he’s gonna go from “cleared for practice” to being dressed on the bench relatively quickly.
 
All I had to see was that early steal and spin move by Boopie to know we were in good shape and at best G-League Beekman is not any good.

Plus his name is Beekman - UVA sucks.

Feel free to pencil it in, but please have your eraser handy ... Ga Tech just scared Duke @ Cameron and Wake is much better than Ga Tech ... a win @ Duke is possible.
