Article, It's About Jeff [Redacted] Now

“I’ve been hearing that since before I even got here, since I was a senior in high school,” Wake Forest sophomore guard Codi Miller-McIntyre said. “Whatever happens to him, especially if he’s not here, it’s our fault. Simple as that. …

“It would be different if we were losing a lot of games by one point, two points, we blow a lead. We never have a lead to blow. We lose by 20 points, 30 points, that’s not a coaching thing. He tried everything he could. He tried different defenses – 3-2, 2-3, press back to a zone, press back to a man. That’s just us. It falls down on us, not the coach.”

Yeesh. Disagree, Codi.

even if it is "them" they were recruited by bzz. He didnt recruit enough talent to win consistently in the ACC

If codi would learn to dribble with his left hand and shoot that would be a start

Exactly. College basketball is heavily dependent on the coach. When a team fails to succeed over the long term, it basically is the coaches fault for either being a bad game coach or being a bad recruiter. Losing a few games can be the players fault, losing half your games every season falls on the coach.

A transition period was expected when he took over, tasked with changing the personality of the program.

refreshing that he does not regurgitate wellman's culture BS.

Never has a person been more appropriately named than the author of that column.

When is the last time that we heard anything about our coaching situation from Eamonn Brennan at ESPN? We need more articles like DeCock's to keep the pressure on.

I feel like the entire team needs to sit down with Robin Williams' character from Good Will Hunting.

"It's not your fault."

I really have a hard time reconciling the reports from BabyDeac that no one on the team likes Buzz and the quotes from CMM, Devin, etc.

That's the BS they've been brainwashed with. This is not what a premier program looks like. This is what the premier's program looks like.

Sometimes people say things that are different than the way they feel on the inside.

What irks me is how the players stick up for the coach, but he isn't man enough to do the same for his guys, throwing them under the bus at every opportunity.

I feel like this is Stockholm syndrome from Codi and Devin lately.

Yeesh. Disagree, Codi.

Meh. CMM is just being smart and not burning bridges. Much better to make a quote supporting your coach/boss...at least while he's still the coach. Even though Matt Doherty was horrible at Chapel Hill and deserved to be fired, it didn't help the reputation of Rashad McCants and the other players that went after Doherty.

A player is never (rarely) going to say "We've been killing it, but we're just so poorly coached that we are losing games." Codi and others are taking the high road, which they should.

The "lack of talent to compete in the ACC" is bullshit as well. We beat UNC and Duke this year. We have the talent to compete. We don't have the talent to win the ACC by any stretch, but the cupboard isn't bare.

It's ridiculous that people jump to defend guys like Ari Stewart, Tony Chennault and JT Terrell when anyone mentions their faults, but are perfectly willing to say Codi, Devin and others suck or that they wouldn't mind seeing 4 or 5 transfers.

I always read "CMM" as Chaz Michael Michaels and it makes me laugh. This has been a bright point of this season for me.

It's been about Bz for four years now. All about Bz.

Wellman needs to go ahead and announce it, whether in a non-descript press release or whatever. Just do it.

I share the same sentiments. I get the impression that CMM and Devin really like him. Maybe it's the others that don't.
