I think everyone wants Forbes to succeed. He is a great representative of the school, fun personality and clearly has an eye for talent. However, his number one responsibility is to win games and get the Deacs regularly into the NCAA tournament. In order to do that you have to win some games against decent competition on the road. This requires discipline meaning valuing the basketball, good shot selection, playing solid defense and consistent rebounding. These things allow you to maintain your composure in a hostile environment. Forbes has failed to demonstrate that he can instill these fundamentals into his teams to this point. There is no question that Forbes has assembled a team with enough talent to make the tournament but just winning at home will not be enough. If we fail to make the tournament again this year, you have to question if Forbes will ever get us there.
UNC is a very good team but they are NOT 20 points better than the Deacs. The lack of composure and discipline in the second half is unacceptable. If this only happens occasionally that would be one thing but it happens all the time in road games against decent teams.
