Draxler quoted as saying he wants to leave Wolfsburg, says if an opportunity to go to a foreign club came they agreed he could go and now he has the opportunity (paraphrasing -- sorry, too lazy to link). Who do we think it is? Juve? Arsenal?

It's almost as crazy as developing a special talent in your academy, letting him leave on a free just as he's ready to join the first team, and then paying 130 million pounds to buy him back a few years later.

And let's not forget the genius that's been Liverpool's last 5 years. First, they use the Torres money to significantly overpay for Andy Carroll, only to fire the coach that acquired him and then hire a coach that doesn't play a style that suits Carroll's talents. Then they use the money from the sale of Suarez to overpay for Benteke only to then fire the coach that acquired him and then a hire a coach that doesn't play a style that suits Benteke's talents. This is a pattern that really needs to end.

You forgot the part of the pattern when you sell Sterling and Carroll and Benteke to West Ham for significantly discounted rates!

Wolfsburg just released a statement saying that Draxler is going nowhere until next summer at the earliest
 
Rumors are Everton will put a bid in to buy Benteke to replace Lukaku. Crazy merry go round. :)
 
Norwich gazumps Brighton to sign Alex Pritchard from Spurs. Offered higher wages. Best of luck to him; hope to see him in the prem next year.

God, I hope so. First match at the OS. Lineup is pretty strong, though I hate seeing Antonio wasted at RB. He is not a defender at all (striker at Forest). Lineup:

Defense is really, really young and inexperienced.

Also, I don't remember Noble ever playing behind the striker. Time to step up, mate!

Adrian's HUGE foot save at the end of the away tie might turn out to be fundamentally important even though it was at the end of a disappointing match.

Looks like we've just officially signed 25-year old full-back Santon from Inter Milan. 4.5 million for a year-long loan with option to buy. I'm pretty sure that dude played at Newcastle forever.
 
How will we start the season? We are deeper than we've been in ages. We'll probably do a lot of rotation and flexible tactics, but our best squad, in my opinion, looks like this (until Cresswell returns):

Bench: Randolph, Lanzini, Carroll, Obiang, Ginge, Antonio, or Youth Player (Quina, Fletcher, Oxford, Burke)

The Nordveit - Kouyate - Noble trio looked awesome today. We might be seeing that again. Nordveit is the primary reason Kouyate and Noble were getting so far forward.
 
It was just revealed that Pritch was on his way to Brighton to sign paperwork - terms agreed with team and player - when his car got caught in traffic. It was during the traffic jam that Norwich contacted his agent with a better offer. So he turned around.

Brutal. BHA is not happy.

Yup. We signed him back in 2011 and he played with Newcastle for four years. Decent LB.

Speaking of Newcastle, we begin the road to promotion in less than one hour against Fulham! Howay the lads!
