WF Tennis (WS Open Starts Saturday)

Rubin plays at 1:30 against another Frenchman. If he wins he most likely takes on Tsonga.

Saw that he was the first player ranked 300 or below to beat a top 20 team in a major in 30 years. That's something.

Doesn't mean a ton because there aren't that many players below 300 that even play in majors. Their only way of getting in is through a wild card because 300 is too low to even get into qualifying.

Probably only one or two wild cards per Slam go to players outside the top 300, and then they have to get drawn against a top 20 player, and you get the picture. But great for Noah that he did it. It's the upset so far of a tournament in a tournament with a bunch of upsets

Getting bageled in the last set is disappointing.

Wake won 4-1 today against #59 Auburn. It was a pretty close match overall. Wake lost the doubles point for the first time this year, but then they rallied to win all 4 completed singles matches. The other two singles matches were close, but Wake was down in both. Wake plays #43 Tennessee tomorrow at 2 PM with the winners earning a spot in the national indoor championships.

The Wake women won a close match at #61 Tennessee yesterday to go to 3-0 on the year.

#11 Wake crushed #43 Tennessee today 4-0. Doubles was very close, but we routed them in singles. With the win Wake is one of 16 teams that qualifies for the national indoor tournament in mid-February.

Pretty sure this is the first time we've ever qualified for National Indoors, which is a pretty big deal. It's essentially the Sweet 16 for the indoor season.

We've had some excruciatingly close calls trying to get there the last few years, so nice to see it finally happen

Big weekend for the men's team starting tonight at 7pm as we play at Oklahoma St. Okie St is ranked somewhere in the mid-20s, but just lost a super close 4-3 match last weekend to #3 TCU, so they are legit. The match will be streamed by PlaySight for those that are interested. Then on Sunday we play at #2 Oklahoma in a match that will be televised on Fox Sports Oklahoma. Two great tests.

#11 Wake travels to OK for two big matches this weekend. Tonight they play at #25 OK State and Sunday at #2 OK. Both matches will be tough. There's a great preview for the OSU match here http://collegetennistoday.blogspot.com/2016/01/friday-preview-illinoisduke-wake.html#more

The match tonight is at 7 PM EST and will be live streamed here http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/live-scoring-video-blog-links.492897/page-5

The match Sunday is at 1 PM EST and will be broadcast on Foxsports OK and you can watch the match here with the FoxSportsToGo app http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/?DB_OEM_ID=31000

The #11 men went to #25 OK State on Friday night and lost a really close match, 4-2. There were several 3 set matches. OSU is better than #25, as they barely lost, 4-3, the match before to #3 TCU. Wake then turned around and won 4-0 today against #2 OK, on the road. A really impressive win for the Deacs. The match was broadcast on Fox Sports OK, and the production was excellent.

The #64 women won two easy matches yesterday, 7-0 against both Elon and Furman, to go to 5-0 on the year.

Really impressive win today against OU. Can we take some money from Manning and give it to Bresky.

Bresky is the realest real deal. For folks more in the know on NCAA Tennis, do we have to worry about potential suitors for his services, or is this like soccer where we are/can be a destination job?
