WF Tennis (WS Open Starts Saturday)

now won the doubles point against Oklahoma twice, Duke and Southern Cal and very solid at singles too. Incredible that despite the loss of Rubin we are a better team this year.

Yep, if Rubin had stayed we might very well be the best team in the nation. Not far from it now.

Wake takes 4 of 6 1st sets.

We would play Ohio State if we win in the 5th place match.

No, this is Wake's last match of this tourney, win or lose. The only match played Monday is the championship.

Another really impressive win for Wake! USC is historically the best team in college tennis, with 21 national championships. Great weekend for the Deacs at their first Indoor National Championships, with wins over the #5 and #6 teams and a really close loss to #1.

Huge results this week. We should be around top 5 when the first computer rankings of the year come out on Tuesday I would think

Its not even that we beat the #5 and #6 teams in the nation. We were likely on our way to 5-2 or 6-1 wins over both, and then played Virginia tighter than anybody else in this tourney has so far.

This could be a really good year for Wake tennis. We could be good enough to make a really deep run.

We also have a very deep team. So, if needed, some of the guys that aren't currently playing (Kan, Bloom, Delcore, etc) could fill in well, I think.

Noah Rubin won his first round match in Delray today against Groth. Only his second tour-level win. He will be up to at least around #200 in the world and doesn't have any points to defend until June. He could keep climbing

Noah Rubin with another big win today. After receiving a last minute wildcard to the ATP event in Delray Beach (due to Taylor Fritz no longer needing it), he beat Sam Groth in the first round 7-6 in the third set. Groth was ranked #76 in the world.

Even if he loses in the second round, he will make $8,300 for the win and his ranking will jump from 245 to 216.
