2019 NFL Season Thread Year 100. Superbowl LIV Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

What’s the logic behind the grounding rule changing when you leave the pocket?

Guessing that QB's would be less likely to throw the ball away outside the pocket if it was still considered grounding, and would be more likely to be subjected to big hits instead. Goes against the "protect the QB" mantra that the league puts at the top of their priority list.

That seems like a lot for Sanu.

Agreed, for just 1.5 seasons of contract and he's due to make $6.5 million next year. has 33 catches this year 66 catches in 2018 and 67 in 2017. Not a lot of TDs, but playing with Ridley who catches them all, along with Jones.

Hes a big target/possession WR so a good pickup, but a 2nd rounder seems steep

It is a great trade for Atlanta, though it is likely to be pick # 63 or 64. The steep price says NE is all in on winning it again this year.

Patriots are operating on another level. Doesn't help that they have the easiest schedule every year. It will be a most joyous occasion when Belichick and Brady douche off into the sunset.

The steep price is the market, apparently the raiders were in for Sanu and the Patriots second is basically a third

Well yeah. Because it’s the Pats and they can and Brady is 42.

Over the past three years, Sanu has averaged over 60 catches a year. The Pats need a receiver. They are trying to win a championship.

Who knows if the last pick or two in the second round will ever be anywhere near as good as he is now?

It's not likely they would get a player as good as Sanu is for next year.

Who knows how long Brady will last?

Guess I'm off ignore again.

What a coup for me!

You want back on, what’s your opinion of uber/Lyft in comparison to shitty run down cabs.

With Flash out for the season, it makes the price for Sanu a little easier to take.

Shocking how many NFL teams are tanking, trading stars as they give up on a season. There is no guarantee that these better draft picks will be great or even serviceable. Could you imagine tanking for Mariota and Winston?

I could see this tanking trend hurting the NFL as a whole as there would be many, many non-competitive games. Bad for TV. The NBA went to a lottery to disincentivize tanking.
