BillBrasky Memorial Political Chat Thread

Do we have a separate thread for these?

So five months ago, a 19 year old was found with a half million in cash, several guns, books about bombs, and other items. An investigation showed he looked up Biden's home and actually travelled near his home. But he hasn't been charged with anything?

HOW DID A 19 YEAR OLD GET $500K IN CASH?

So the Qanon, gun loving, right-wing terrorist is also part of the socialist, child trafficking, blood drinking cabal? This is getting so hard to keep track of.

Thought I heard something about his father dying and leaving him money.

Ah yes. Inherited wealth. Guarantees money stays with people who didn't earn it.

Looks like the usual suspects jumped the gun on another one yet again.

Pretty sure nobody said anything about this guy's political affiliation. However, it is a comment on where society is at that domestic terrorists feel more emboldened to act.

Well they’re emboldened because it’s apparently not a big deal. Five months later and no charges.

Susan Collins and I are shocked that terrorizing while white (tww) produces no charges from this justice department.

Voting straight ticket with the exception of Troxler. Voting for a pub, even for Ag Commissioner, hurts.

oof. really want to continue giving the "sons of confederate veterans" a voice at the state fair, huh?

Not sure what this means but I'll leave this quite from their website right here...

“To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier’s good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish.”

I know people are tired of the pandemic and it’s overwhelming but we are about to have a very dark winter. It seems like a lot of people have this Election Day feeling like that’s the turning point not just for the nation but for hope in dealing with the virus. Yet, even in defeat you will have a president that already didn’t care really not care for two additional months. We are staring at a doubling of the death count.

Yet another dumb thing from our shitty Constitution: the lengthy lame duck period.

But the newly elected President has to get in a stage coach and ride to the capital. That could take weeks.

It still lives and breathes with the perspective of a wealthy slaveowner from the late 1700s.

There's a memorial to Wilkes Confederate veterans near the old Wilkes County courthouse in Wilkesboro, it was placed there in 1998 by the local Sons of Confederate Veterans chapter. The dedication inscribed on the memorial is just so perfect present-day rural Southern redneck worldview: "In remembrance of the Wilkes County soldiers of the Confederate States of America, who defended their Southern homeland against Northern aggression. May their bravery, loyalty, honor and Christian virtues continue to live in all Wilkes County citizens." The irony is that in 1861 a majority of people in Wilkes voted against secession - in the middle of the war a large pro-Union rally was held in Wilkesboro where they took down the Confederate flag from the courthouse and put up the Stars and Stripes - and some county residents openly supported the Union during the war. I've wondered what those folks would think of that memorial being right next to the old courthouse.

Well groups like that serve to revise history. That’s the whole point.
