They seem to have a fairly committed AD. I think if they lose Strong, they'll shell out the bucks to get the next Strong.
must be nice to have papajohn dollars

Strong spent the balance of his career in the SEC. I'm sure he'd go back there if the chance arose. There are usually one or two SEC openings every year. He will bounce eventually. Lville can offer him huge money (thanks Papa!), but they can't offer him SEC prestige. The SEC can offer both.

God why can't every other conference stop sucking so we can stop hearing about how football did not exist before the SEC started winning in the past decade.
If the ACC was going down this road, we should have taken WVU.
UCONN basketball was a one trick pony - Slimeball Calhoun. The fan support is awful (AWFUL) and Storrs is a dump in the middle of fucking nowhere that no one is going to recruit to well going forward.
UofL has a much bigger and far more passionate fanbase, has a much longer history and has a far brighter outlook going forward. And that's just in basketball. In other sports it's just laughable to compare UCONN to them. UCONN is exactly the kind of program that the ACC should be avoiding.
I sincerely hope we don't eventually regret letting WVU go to the Big 12.
I think the Louisville move is genius for a couple of reasons.
1) Best football school we could get
2) Hopefully shores up FSU (Big 12's most likely ACC target)
3) Eliminates one of the strongest Big 12 prospects from the Big East.
I firmly believe that either the Big 12 or the ACC is going to survive mostly intact, but not both. Anything we can do to add to our position while weakening theirs is a good move. By shoring up our position with FSU while eliminating attractive Big 12 targets, we are making it more likely the ACC survives and the Big 12 gets cannibalized.

We stayed in Louisville after the ND game and hit the Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs on Sunday. I didn't realize just how close to campus Churchill Downs is. It's a good road trip destination if the horses are running.
The Louisville Slugger Museum is also an extremely underrated destination, if you're a baseball fan.
Someone really should mention that we passed on WVU, and we are now taking UofL. Really surprised it has yet to be mentioned.
Can't believe we passed on West Virginia and now we are taking LOUISVILLE!!! Argggh!!! ;-)
