WAKE/STATE GAME THREAD

Say what you will, but whenever someone throws a press or switches to a zone on us, our guys know what to do. They jumped into a 2-3 zone to try to change things up, and we ate it alive, and they got out of it. CMM still makes some lazy passes, but we know how to beat a press with a bunch of freshmen. A few years ago, if someone switched to a zone, we simply dribbled around it and jacked up a long contested three at the end of the shot clock. Ish could always break the press by himself for the most part, but zones used to kill us.

Yep, hard to deny. Plus Cav and Moto combined to take 1 three pointer. It's a shame Madison fumbled that wide open layup... That game was the first time we've seen everyone play to their strengths and stay focused for an entire half. And that's the 2nd time we've demolished a zone without hitting outside shots, not the first. We even got Andre Washington in for minutes that mattered and he got a block that fired up the crowd like crazy.

Really curious if we can pay another half like that soon. That was fun to watch.
 
The bigs passing their way through the zone is just a joy to watch. We def understand how to attack a zone.

Check out the State board. Look what we did. There is a "twitter gate" now. The players are apparently in a "mutiny". The fans have turned on Gottfried. And Tyler Lewis is probably transferring. Their fans are more fragile than us and that is saying a lot.

The State players comments after the game were hilarious - not once commending wake for playing well, just saying how stupid they were for throwing the game. Fuck State and their fans. They're the worst.

State fans on the internet are the worst. The least bit of success and they become insufferable.
 
Didn't really know where to post this but was just listening to Taylor Zarzour and Mark with a C out of Charlotte and those guys gave no respect to Wake at all. One of the hosts actually referred to to Wake as Weak Forest a few times. I try and try to give those guys a chance and then they do something like that. Just can't respect someone like that especially those guys. They questioned us rushing the court as well.

You have been paying attention the last 3 seasons, right? Until proven otherwise by 1-2 seasons of success, last night was an extreme outlier in a record otherwise populated by losses to any good team we play, along with losses to teams that have no business even keeping it close with an ACC team. Respect is earned. We have a LONG way to go.

Regarding the game: I think that's the actual impact of a win at home against #18 NC State, coming off of a game at UNC on the road. Idiots on both sides are going to blow this game out of proportion in terms of what it meant. It's a good win, but as many have pointed out; it's a win that we used to get all of the time. It's a game that good programs are used to winning.

I have no problem with the fans rushing the court. Seeing Travis and CJ happy justifies it to me as a Wake Forest fan. Was it necessary? No. Does it matter? No. To be fair, if I was not a Wake Forest fan, then I'd probably think it was ridiculous.

Regarding Weak Forest: we lost to Stetson, Presbyterian, Wofford, and Iona over three different years. We deserve whatever pun gets thrown at us until we, at the very least, stop losing to low-major cupcakes.
 
Do not listen to that show. It is worse than Packer's show, and I didn't think that was possible. They are UNC fans (I think one of them went there) and have been dumping on Wake for a while. Football too "Every conference needs a Wake Forest to beat up on." They said that on the heels of us playing in a bowl game too.
