BZZ Out Rumor

It's not too late to go to Davidson asshole. By the way, know many Davidson students/alums? I do...

My dad went there. Unless your high school bully went there I don't see why you'd have any animosity towards the wildcats.

No entitled folks at Davidson. None.

Do they still do the kids' laundry for them there?

All I know is that it is up there with work forest as far as workload. NC really has a bunch of fine schools.

Those same whiny pussy students are the ones that give Wake a bad image by not going to the games or giving a shit about our basketball team, which was one of the best things the school had going for it as far as national image goes. Those same whiny pussy students only came to Wake because they wanted to get out of the North/ couldn't get in an ivy/ wanted to go to a school with a good ranking or a good (not nearly as good as they try to make it seem) business school and that's it. In my opinion, Wake already has a bad image because of the school Hatch is trying to change it in to (one for a bunch of entitled pussies and douche bags) and it's leaving behind what it has been historically and the ideals that made up its (to borrow [Redacted]'s words) foundation, and other shit I could rant about for hours. Fuckin' Yankees. I should've gone to Davidson...

Fuck this, and Fuck you. Let them have their opinion and you can debate it like a grownup, instead of being some southern-pride, Yankees-go-home shithead. Calling people who disagree with you "entitled pussies and douche bags" might fly on Davidson's debate squad, but its immature and unhelpful. So with all irony intended, I say fuck you, you pig fucker.

I'm kind of surprised at the backlash against '15 Deac's post. He said some of the same things a lot of other posters have said about changes in the student body in the last few years, just with a few more expletives. It was late at night after a basketball game, he was probably drunk and fired up. Cut him some slack.

Complacency of the student body and fanbase is a legitimate complaint. The stereotype that it's the northern students who make it that way is not. I'm from NY, graduated in '03 and have been a passionate Wake fan for as long as '15 has been alive.

I would be very surprised if the BOT has already voted on this. I think it is more likely that if [Redacted] is removed, it would happen as described - with Hatch/BOT going over Wellman's head and making the call.

Who hijacked BBD's account?

Gotta love a guy in (presumably) the class of '15 talking about the history of the school and image. Christ, assuming he's about 18-19 yrs old, he's not even old enough to remember watching Childress, Duncan, or even Howard.

The issue definitely isn't letting in kids from the North v. the South - most of the friends I made at Wake from the North were some of the most passionate. A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that we've expanded in national academic reputation faster than our national athletic reputation. If Hatch, the BOT, and Wellman aren't interested in making our AD's reputation rival that of the college's then there's no hope.

In the past, there was no real need to. We were an A+ mainly regional school, so you had people who had grown up either watching WF sports, or at least grew up knowing something about them so finding some way to connect people to the athletic department wasn't as big a deal.

I pretty much blame this on Hatch's ND-like image. #HatchOut

Perhaps he graduated in 1915?

I agree that North vs. South isn't the problem. The problem is well rounded students (with lots of different interests) vs. purely academic students who are only interested in studying.

I thought you were talking about Wake.

I'm saying that to call a fanbase complacent because they have northerners is stupid. A lot of the most passionate Wake fans I know are Yankees. I used Duke as an example to show that Southerners do not have a monopology on passion.

This. And absolutely the last sentence. As much as I miss Skip, I miss Thomas K. Hearn even more.

Count me as another person who never noted a difference in my time at Wake between North v. South sports passion. If anything, as a kid who grew up going to the Vet for Eagles games I was more disappointed by our wannabe fratty tailgates that lacked any support for Wake athletics and our wine ad cheese crowds in the stands.
