Here we go (BUZZ's RETURN CONFIRMED BY AD)...

It's not THAT surprising that one man is that delusional. The big surprise is that Hatch and the BOT, all supposedly very successful people in their own right, thing that Bzz is the answer.

Absolutely unbelievable. No logic behind this whatsoever. Utter incompetence.

Absolutely blows my mind that Wellman could be sitting courtside for FGCU, see what Marshall is doing at Wichita, and still think that Bzzz is the answer for our basketball program. Wake basketball has always been my favorite time of the year, and the way he's completely killed it is excruciating to watch.

He is gutting our fanbase for an entire generation. Current students will leave Wake having no emotional attachment to hoops. Young kids who are in their impressionable years will grow up not liking Wake hoops, and will likely view it as punishment if their parents force them to attend or watch games.

I don't think this is the case at all. I just think they don't care about the winning all that much. The ACC money is going to keep rolling in and all Hatch and the BOT care about is the school. That, to me, is obvious. Just go get a guy who is so vanilla he couldn't possibly get us in trouble and nobody cares about the W's and L's.

I think it just shows that competing at the highest level possible in major sports at Wake Forest is no longer a priority and as much as I love Wake Forest, it makes me question why I should continue to have the passion I do as a fan.

Those coaches clearly COMPROMISE THEIR VALUES.

How can successful people not care about winning? Maybe us pathetic losers need to latch on to something and they don't. I just don't get it.

That fucking Miami win did us in.

Yep. Just like I told the big, black dude that wore the tan jacket that clearly worked for Wake when he saw me in my #BuzzOut t-shirt and asked, "so I guess you are sad, right? Sad that we won?" in a really cocky tone of voice.

I just dead panned him and said, "Yes, I wish we would have lost. Would have ended this inevitable failure sooner. Happy for CJ, but this is bad for the other players and Wake in the long run."

I hate how prescient that comment turned out to be while the students were rushing the court.

Larranaga crafty like a fox

And I chalk that up to it was time for Miami to lose an ACC game. I hate to take away from the effort of our players in that game, they did a great job, but I think Miami could've been playing at any other ACC school that day and lost. [Redacted] has managed 1 impressive win in 3 years, the State win has proven to not be all that impressive now, and he gets retained and probably an extension.

These are academic types that stress winning off the court instead of winning on the court. So they say.

Not ALL of them do. But ENOUGH of them do.... or were at least talked into it. (again)

I'm curious how Wellman, Bz, and the staff are going to set up the schedule so that every ACC game is a home game with a week of rest.

I agree with this but not as such an extreme. I think the point that has been made about the Deacs picking up some steam and connecting with the community and casual fans has been lost and will really take a long time to recover. I also think the worst thing is that die-hards (like many of us) losing some interest is one of the worst things possible for a team like Wake. I had a hard time getting excited about turning on the games this past year, whereas in the past I would plan my day around it. It just sucks that we have a product that so few people are actually excited about.

Wake Forest coach Jeff [Redacted] said in all his conversations with AD Ron Wellman all the talk was about future, never job status.

I'm an academic type that stresses winning everywhere. There's no reason to have sports if we're not planning to win.

Just kidding. Have no idea how I will feel at the start of the next season. Excited for the progress of the frosh???
