$300 per day plus ~$300ish supply cost. And he thought 3 days was a minimum. He wants to sand it, clean it, remove the trim to paint below, probably caulk some little gaps here and there where things aren't exactly flush... Too much detail for me I think.

also now I'm tempted to just leave it as the stupid wood box and try to dislike it less by adding long curtains and things to soften it up. But it would still be a wooden box.

KILZ, long rollers, and friends. you've been wanting it painted since you first looked at the place. don't settle. do it now while there's not too much stuff all settled in there and you have people willing to help. it really won't be that huge of an undertaking, especially with many hands.

after this weekend I should be in town for a while so hopefully I can get my act together about it.
