Daniel Green's knee requires 2nd surgery

On the upside (?), DG may get a 6th year and will likely be 24ish and should have a much improved game.

Or his basketball days are over. This is a really tough break for a good kid. My heart goes out to him.

It will require a huge heart to rehab again immediately after going through the same process. Hopefully the 2nd injury was not as severe as the first. Still, it will require a tremendous desire to compete.

Green can receive a medical hardship scholarship and not count towards our allotment if this is career ending. Sucks for Daniel.

To have that size and have your knee keep you from your dream really sucks. Maybe he surprises us all and make a full recovery.

It's weird how vague they are being about this. Ligament? Meniscus? They might as well have just left it at "he had an operation. That operation is now complete."

Vague is a kind way to describe it. Misleading statements and misinformation have been the order of the day ever since he re-injured his knee. The CYA attitude seems to have permeated every aspect of the program.

That is a real indictment coming from you. It is a real shame.

yeah, i think if it was an ACL they would have just come out with the diagnosis. major meniscus issues could mean the end for him...

really sad for DG, get well soon and we will hopefully see you next season!

It was my understanding that this was a pretty bad injury from the outset (the second injury) and that we just didnt want to put it out there. I know there are a few people who have known the extent of this injury for a while. I have no idea what the injury is but it was pretty clear that he was gonna be out for a while as soon as the news of the knee came out (which didnt happen in any official capacity but it kind of trickled out from a variety of sources).

Bottomline the whole thing has been really weird. Add it to the list.

really sucks for dg. best of luck to you!

what a ridiculous thing to keep a secret. they kept it quiet for bzz and ronnie rather than for dg. shame to continue to use these kids in any way that they think helps him.

DG...I know you'll want to make a comeback. Persevere.

How does keeping an injury quiet help [Redacted] and Wellman?

How does making his injury public help Daniel?

Kid is hurt again, it sucks. I really don't get why this is getting thrown on the "burn Wellman and [Redacted]" pile. Dealing with an injury, doctors, recovery times, and a guy's entire future is not to be taken lightly. For all we know Daniel is intent on playing this year and doesn't want anything like "season ending injury" getting leaked until they know for sure.

maybe i am off on the timing but i could have sworn bzz and wellman have talked him up in interviews for the coming season. so if he was already injured that's pretty sh!tty. if he was still "just" coming off his originally injury it's still sh!tty putting pressure on him. they have also pointed to his injury specifically as one of the reasons last season was not better. maybe i am a little overly sensitive because throwing these kids under the buzz... err buss has been the norm with them.
