I basically had cake for breakfast the last two mornings. I made apple streusel muffins this weekend, and they're basically apple cake without icing, but with brown sugar and butter on top. Nom nom nom.

I lurve apple cake breakfast things. My cookie ladies at Grassroots Gourmet in Bloomingdale make an amazing apple cake... and the single best cookie on the planet (triple chocolate).

Is that the new(ish) place by Boundary Stone?

I keep meaning to rent that.

I enjoyed it, but thought it was confusing for the sake of being confusing.

Not like The Prestige where the surprise hit you in the face like a baseball bat, but fit so well and made you happy you didn't figure it out.

I really hate magic. And magicians. I am not sure I can explain it but I wouldn't walk across the street to watch the world's greatest magician.

do you have curry as often as tacos?

No, I probably have curry once a month (until that Curry thread, at least). Tacos several times a week.

When I lived in the UK, however, I had Curry probably three times a week -- frozen, takeaway, eat-in, whatever.

Sweet things for breakfast? Yes, please. Greatest breakfast in the world? My grandmother's (and then my mother's) chocolate gravy and country biscuits. Sounds weird but don't knock it 'till you try it. Pretty simple to make, too.

Just took this dialect quiz:

http://spark.rstudio.com/jkatz/DialectQuiz/

It thinks I am from somewhere random in the deep south. It did help me realize, however, that over the years I have been consciously changing my pronunciation of words, thus neutralizing my accent and dialect somewhat. Interesting stuff coming out of NC STATE.

I know someone else who feels very similarly

It just asked me if I call the department store "Belk" or "Belks."
