7:45 (actually closer to 8 most days) to 4:45 for me here. I stay until 5 on Fridays because I have viola da gamba rehearsal, usually, which is a bummer. I never take anything home with me and everything that I need to do can stop and wait for me until the next day, without exception. When I don't have stuff to do (frequently) I surf the webs. When I do have stuff to do I...surf the webs more.

I miss Project Pumpkin too. I wish there was some way that I could give back to Project Pumpkin as an alumni.

This is the 25th anniversary of Project Pumpkin. I miss it a lot. Heading that up Senior Year was my all time favorite experience at Wake.

You actually can donate to Project Pumpkin. The designation is COP257.

I am very flexible on start time - getting in anywhere from 8 to 9:45. Sometimes I come in late because I did a long run that morning and it takes me forever to recover, stop sweating and shower after a run - especially when it is humid. I am always in the office until 6 or 6:30, and typically until 7:00. At least once or twice a week I have conference calls between 8-10 at night with international folks. I typically work an hour or so at home as well every night - catching up on e-mail or something. I always have e-mail on my phone so will randomly be doing e-mail and stuff on the weekend as well - though I try not to spend extended hours working on the weekend if I can help it.
I feel like I could work 24x7 and never catch up so slow days aren't really an issue...

I just sent an email to someone named Charlene MacKenzie, and her email was charmackenzie, so it made me think of CharDeeMacDennis from Sunny.

glad I'm not the only one

I prefer weekdays for a variety of reasons, they're usually free more often, less pressure I guess, and places are less crowded/more options. But weekends are fine too. If you're free, you're free.

For people who have set hours, what do you do on days where you have too much to do? Just not finish? Also, what about days that are slow? Do you just sit at work for the sake of sitting at work?

I don't have "set hours" but the office is open from 9-5:30 so we're pretty much expected to be there during those times, though it's fine if you need to leave like an hour early or get there an hour late. My group is also expected to stay late or work early as client needs arise. If I just peaced out at like 2pm because I didn't have anything to do, that wouldn't fly. I'd just sit around and peruse blogs/the boards/facebook until 5:30 pretty much.

Sorry to whoever chatted me at work, I didn't see it. Good thing I'm the only one who has this on.

My wife is taking the 3 boys to Project Pumpkin this afternoon. Should be a good time!

Awesome. I woke up myself up because I was laughing. I don't remember what was so funny but somebody in my dream had said "remember not to mention his hands in the description" and I replied "BUT HE HAS 20 FINGERS."

On important days, I will rise before (or with) the alarm and say "The time is now"

I'm expected to be in the office 9-5, which I am, but I also have frequent, random evening/weekend hours for programs and events throughout the year. I am also on call for an entire week about once a month/month and a half.

If I was a bus driver/metro conductor, I would 100% abuse the intercom.

In Chapel Hill, one of the AM bus drivers used to give a daily inspirational message about how we were special or it was going to be a wonderful day or something (can't remember exactly, but it was funny).

The new Android Twitter app is going to take some getting used to.

I'm 8-5. There is some flexibility if I need to come in a little later or leave a little earlier (and truthfully, I have so many meetings and visits/trips out of the office, no one would know the difference). If I need to stay a little later to finish something, or look at something from home at night or on a weekend, I will, though that's fairly rare. Most stuff can wait until tomorrow.

The upside of a set schedule is that I can leave at 5. I also get a shitload of leave time.

Downside is that if I'm bored on a Friday, I can't take off at 3 without saying something. Also, being at work at 8 AM blows.
