Next Coach...rumors on the ground.

Wellman's Short List:

#1 - Mike MacIntyre
#2 - Todd Berry
#3 - Brian Wright
#4 - Mike London
#5 - Justin Fuente

Mike MacIntyre is Wellman's top candidate and has already been contacted by representatives from the University. A proven success with consistent improvements each year while rebuilding San Jose State's program into a winner. After taking over as HC at Colorado he built a solid foundation during first season that will guide Colorado back to historical competitiveness in the future. He previously lived in North Carolina while DC at Duke so he has ties to the ACC, NC roots and is a proven success with experience at small private schools.

If Wellman can't get his top choice, then Todd Berry is an intriguing candidate. Berry has led ULM to back to back bowl eligible seasons and Berry has proven that he can compete and defeat teams in BCS conferences.

Brian Wright is an interesting name on Wellman's list. He rebuilt the offense at FAU is a head coach from a major program and brings a diversity of experience to the table.

Mike London will only be considered if UVA makes a coaching change...but an interesting candidate for the short list. A proven success coaching the Richmond Spiders, Mike has is also familiar with competing in the ACC. Will be interesting if he becomes available, if UVA is not patient enough to let him build their program.

Justin Fuente is sort of the wildcard on Wellman's short list. He has an offensive mindset, played QB and brings a lot of youthful energy to the table with previous head coaching experience turning a football program around.

Where did you hear this?

No mention of Lembo, Narduzzi, or Orgeron?

Are we really considering another coach who won, and then ditched, briefly at a mid-major before posting a below .500 season at Colorado as our head coach?

Absolutely no way that list is serious.

Mike London? LOL. Not gonna happen.

Jon Gruden

No interest in college - heck, he's not even interested in returning to the NFL sidelines. Has a cushy TV analyst job that pays well w/no stress (plus he's good at it). And we couldn't afford him anyway.

Honestly, Kirby Smart would do a damn good job with the defense. It's our offense that will lack. Orgeron would not be that bad, but he did a decent job at Ole Miss. If we can get a good offensive coordinator I am all for giving Smart or Narduzzi a chance, most likely Smart. Problem is he is already making 7 figures haha.

I'm sorry...what?

He was 10-25 (3-21). DO NOT WANT.

Recruiting and football minds don't mean shit if you can't coach those players to more than 3-4 wins.

If that list is legit (which I highly doubt it is) then we are in trouble.

Regardless of whether you END UP with one of those worse than mediocre clowns, your list had better include a few big names after the shit this fan base has had to deal with.

LOL at anyone who fell for YIA's list. Did you guys not read the paragraphs on the first 2 coaches?

I do wonder if we will reach out to Troy Calhoun. There was a time when that would have been option #1.

The Mike London inclusion should have made it obvious.
