Indictment of Jeff [Redacted]

I'm kind of surprised McKie didn't transfer 2 years ago. He could've redshirted and still had his eligibility left right?

By doing so, he'd have taken a year of hoops away from himself and prolly have put off making some nice change in Europe by a year.

True, but not having to play for Bzzzz has to be worth losing some earning power for a year.

He would have sat out last year and this year he'd be starting for Shaka. I think under a real coach he would have significantly improved his earnings potential.

If Chill really did talk Travis into staying, he should be ashamed of himself.

Chill may have thought he was helping both Travis and Wake at the time. I don't blame him.

I was at the aforementioned VT game and the UVA game last night. We seemed to play hard against VT, and had CJ made the finger roll, it would have been a great win.
Last night was just terrible all around.

When was the last time Wake played a close road game? The only one I can think of is @VA TECH last season, a game that we should have won but found a way to choke. I want to believe that there are more but i cannot think of any. All i think of is blowouts.

It is impossible to make postseason - NIT, NCAA if you do not win roughly 20% to 25% of your road conference games. Most teams do not go undefeated in conference play at home which means you need to steal 1 or 2 on the road plus beat the bottom half of the league to get to double digit conference wins. Bz hasn't even won 5% of his road games IN HIS CAREER as a college coach.

How is that even possible? It really is astoundingly awful

Pitt is a lot better than UVA, Saturday will likely be a worse defeat if that is even possible.......

I realize you're "not Buzzin" these days...but, why exactly, should he get any shot at fixing anything at this point?
It's called respect, know what that means? It means, any hired coach at Wake deserves to get a fair shot at Wake to win under a fair set of conditions.

He was not hired into a fair set of conditions by any means. He was asked to do things most other coaches aren't asked to do, working with a set of players that personality wise fit Dino who is the polar opposite, and told winning doesn't matter. The only way to fairly assess his performance at Wake was after the transition was over, with his players, and when winning mattered to the AD.

Pointing to Colorado is irrelevant to his performance at Wake. Pointing to years 1 and 2 is irrelevant given Wellman's stupidity. Putting much meaning on Year 3 is weak given it was with a team of freshmen. This is the first year that has real meaning at Wake as far as winning and we should just let it play out. If he's the coach you think he is and I suspect he is, then the poor data/results will happen this year....like last night....and changes will be made.

I really don't get why it's so hard to understand. I've been saying the same thing over and over again.

Are you still skeptical that the Earth is round? Or have you come around on that too finally?

He is 1-28 when not playing on his home court against his conference. I don't care what the situation is, I can't think of a team with that record over a 3 year clip...regardless of the situation. Do you know how many coaches start in a rough programs, and do infinitly better that 1-28??? The answer? A ton. There is no coach, in a major conference that would survive that..... not K, not Roy, not Beheim...no one.

Poor Buzz...he just hasn't had a fair shake at things.

He has a knack for stoking the fanbase's apathy with these awful road losses after galvanizing home wins. He should have been fired at half of the carolina game when he said he was pleased with our performance on the glass.

From my piece on our atrocious road performance: http://www.bloggersodear.com/2014/1...cc-basketball-road-losses-virginia-pittsburgh

It's not just that Wake is performing poorly on the road, Wake was expected to perform very poorly and somehow performing far worse.

Over our past 10 ACC road games (all of last year plus last night) Wake was expected to lose by a total of 115 points (which is terrible), yet we lost by 161 points or about 5 points worse per game than expected.

Meanwhile, over our past 10 ACC home games (all of last year plus Carolina) Wake was expected to lose by a combined 40 points over that stretch, when we actually outscored our opponents by 49 points, which is 8.9 points better per game than expected. It defies logic, but it's happening.

This isn't true. But even if it is it's just evidence that Wellman should be fired in addition to [Redacted].

And even if you completely discount year 1 and 2, year 3 was still bad enough on its own to justify a firing.

Are you serious? Miami lost their entire starting lineup this year and are ranked higher in KenPom than we are in Year 4 of Buzz. You are delusional.

According to basketball reference's rating system there has only been one non-buzz coached Wake team in the last 25 years worse than this one (06-07). And if we are discounting years 1 and 2, buzz still has two of the five worst seasons of the past 35 years of Wake Basketball.

Regardless of situation? 99.9% of those coaching changes are relatively normal. This situation was extreme from the start. Can you name one coach at this level that was told to completely rebuild the program in a completely different 180° direction, but told to retain all coaches, players, and existing recruits? I'm not aware of one.

The notion that "no other coach would survive it" is sort of funny given he was told winning wasn't important for the first 2 years. How many coaches are even told that? Probably only after a scandal...which is how Wellman treated the situation.

And hell, I'm not even saying he should stay, all I've said is he blew it last night on the road with a team of his experienced players and if things don't change ASAP in that regard, he needs to go. Sorry it's not "fuck Bz" enough you.

Well by now he knows better. If he hasn't apologized to Travis yet, he should.
