This. Bz is horrible but this was the major complaint against Dino.

My thoughts exactly. When was the last time a team actually played well offensively and made open shots against us? It's been a long, long time. Probably Pitt. I think it'll be Duke who just goes bananas from 3 against us.
 
Dino's worst coaching quality was zone offense.
 
As much as the coaches get bashed, I thought the game plan was solid. With Dev and Tyler/Moto alternating at the high post and baseline extended, we had plenty of good looks, both in the lane and from outside. Really came down to making shots and we didn't tonight. Codi's foul trouble/tick tack calls certainly didn't help.

Best play ever. Pass it between 3 guards for 25 seconds, then give it to Ish and let him knife through the defense and either dish it or hit a runner. Worked all the time.

Whether it was [Redacted], Battle, or Rusty - the team was prepared for the zone tonight. Those skip passes whenever they got doubled in a corner were nice. The cuts to the high post and the passing out of that spot were great. They just weren't prepared for the athleticism of Syracuse on the boards and couldn't hit an open 3 all night.
 
Had folks over for bridge so missed most of the game. Caught the last 8:00. Looks like McKie is picking it up the last couple of games. Also looks like both teams struggled shooting and rebound, or the lack thereof, did us in again. Rebounding is kinda important.

His second worst coaching quality was man offense. I'll grant him that his teams were the best defensive teams since Odom. But it was tough watching our halfcourt sets. Though not nearly as tough as watching the disaster that is Buzzdick. And at least back then I had an emotional investment in our games.
 
It may have been discussed elsewhere, but I hope you guys noticed section2overalls with his "Buzz In" shirt behind the Wake bench.

He's the worst.
 
Yeah, I agree with DC. We attacked the zone very well with good ball movement. We just don't have the athleticism to finish near the rim, and the 3s weren't falling.

Thought the effort, the gameplan, and the execution of sets were actually halfway decent tonight. We just didn't have anywhere near the athleticism or talent needed to compete at this level, and don't appear we will for the next few years.

Motivation isn't an issue at home with the crowd, and we could have won tonight's game.

We just need a new coach who will actually recruit the talent to compete and provide the motivation/focus to win on the road.
