I really hope we do not hire our new coach on April Fool's Day......oh, the irony.....:cliffs:
 
The longer this goes on (to a point) without rejection/denial from the intended, the more hopeful I become because it says that serious negotiations are happening. "No" takes seconds. The details of a contract take longer. $$$$, length, buyout schedule, special outs for a few schools, etc.

In the case of the presumptive first choice, there may also be considerations for his wife. Professsorship? Ph.D. program? Something else?

Also, what is being negotiated for/with his current assistants?

All this takes time, because only a few people are working on it (by their own choosing.)
 
You'd think the people who are negotiating would need to reach out to other people in the Wake community at some point to get these things done.
 
Amaker rejected WFU? Ha ha That dookie is still hurting from the ass whooping Muggsy put on him down in Durham in 1985. He looked slow and weak that night. And the #1 ranked dookies lost in OT to the Deacons. Dawkins scored only 7 points in that game with Muggsy and Rudd taking turns with Amaker.
 
So to recap, Manning leaked himself as a candidate, so no need to get worked up about that. Martin is staying at UT, so that leaves everyone else in play. There's still no word out of Shaka's camp, leaving me hopeful that we are in negotiations with him this week.

At what point are we also to read into No word from Archie's camp re: commitment to Dayton etc etc?
 
If I were Shaka I'd screw with us today. Tweet about a change in scenery or something.

Still nothing from our Green Guys.

I am confident that there is nothing to the Manning stuff.

If Wellman signs one of the top targets he will look unbelievably competent. To preform this search so quietly and come up with a real "home run" would be impressive. A shitty hire, well...
