Almost punched a guy last night

This surprises no one. Were you strapped? I assume so. I called the cops on this lady who pulled the same shit at our grocery. She pulled the same
"out of gas, visiting from out of town" line on me three times over the course of a few months. I also cock blocked her from getting money from another car a different day. I hate that shit. I just say "I got no cash" as they approach and keep walking.
 
This guy was dressed fairly nicely (decent pants and polo type shirt). He didn't look homeless but that seems to be the way they do it around here.

I didn't yell or threaten him. I was pretty pissed but calm. He was the one yelling and threatening. I was just debating hitting him.

It wasn't that specific word that bothered me as much as the fact that I couldn't get away from him without him yelling profanities at me. My neighbor (female) was recently harassed by a guy in a parking lot who slammed a shopping cart into her car when she got in and locked the doors. I don't know what's wrong with these people.

I never have any cash on me and it's inevitably going to turn into them begging or telling me a long story about how they're in such dire straits. I give them a simple, "hello, no I'm sorry I don't have any cash" but keep on the whole time. If they're begging for money, they're probably feeling terrible, dehumanized, anxious, and at their wits end. No need to instigate a fight with them on top of it.

You don't? They are homeless and can't afford food or very likely any medical care (including mental health care). What do you think is wrong with them?
 
^ I agree but don't you think the person saying "you fucking faggot" to someone walking away from you would be the instigator?
 
I've been toying for the idea of begging with a sign that says "Need money for private island. Anything helps. God bless" and getting a Square for my Iphone just to see how much I could get.
 
Some guy called me a fat faggot one time and I broke his nose. In my defense I was drunk and at a tailgate.
 
Why would you not shake the guys hand? That seems pretty rude to me. I usually listen to the spiel then politely inform them that I don't carry cash.
 
I got called a white devil this morning outside of the Duval county courthouse. Some guy yelling about a website exposing all of the evil that is condoned in the bible.

"I'm coming to take your Christianity from you white man. That's right. You want me to be wrong but the Book won't let me be wrong. I am going to expose your evil you white devil."
 
There was a guy in Winston that hung around Polo Rd that LOVED the "my car is out of gas and I need to get to pick up my daughter" story. I would just say I have a canister in my trunk and would be happy to spare a gallon or two. Almost always walked away without a word.
 
Something similar was discussed on the radio in the Triad last week. Apparently there's a guy in Greensboro who hangs around the Whole Foods Parking lot saying he's a high school basketball coach from Spartanburg SC who is bringing players up to UNCG and Elon to show them off and needs money for gas to get his car out of the downtown parking deck. He's gone so far with his story as to actually look up a legit school and coach's name. His plan is not completely fool proof though, as he gave the sob story to the same woman on consecutive days one week.
