It was a great year for movies, tough to pick my 20 favorites. But, here's my attempt at just that. Saw nearly everything I wanted to see, minus a few of the Oscar contenders, which I may see at some point, but I knew weren't going to make my list.
1. Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer)
2. Inherent Vice (Paul Thomas Anderson)
3. Only Lovers Left Alive (Jim Jarmusch)
4. Guest, The (Adam Wingard)
5. Babadook, The (Jennifer Kent)
6. Lucy (Luc Besson)
7. Starred Up (David McKensie)
8. Night Moves (Kelly Reichardt)
9. Dear White People (Justin Simien)
10. Immigrant, The (James Gray)
Honorable Mention: Listen Up Philip (Alex Perry Ross), Jodorowsky’s Dune (Frank Pavich), Nightcrawler (David Gilroy), John Wick (David Leitch, Chad Stahelski), Grand Budapest Hotel, The (Wes Anderson), Stranger By the Lake (Alain Guiraudie), Vanquishing of the Witch Baba Yaga, The (Jessica Oreck), Cheap Thrills (E.L. Katz), Goodbye to Language (Jean-Luc Godard), and Raid 2, The (Gareth Evans)
Look forward to seeing what everyone else's favorites from the year were.
