Wake/VT

lot of hero ball down the stretch, yet another first round ACC tournament loss

At least 20 pts allowed via half court layups/dunks. Abysmal effort. It is shocking bc I have watched Danny's old guys at Tulsa this year and they are a tough defensive team. We have bad on ball defenders and no rim protectors.

I wholeheartedly disagree that we played hard.
 
I don't much care about what Danny Manning says about stressing defense. We just play poor, soft defense (especially at the end of games), and that's the biggest reason why we lose.
 
So, VT has as good a class as Wake's coming in plus two solid transfers?

I'm willing to give Danny and co. a pass this year for the miserable defense, but things better change next year. Devin was just horrible on defense today and our rotations looked dead all game.
 
It's okay. Phan09 is thrilled because we tried hard and our guys are great citizens. Chins up guys!
 
one defensive stop in last 7+ minutes to last place team. reminded me of Wake-WVU fiasco. Hudson was like the dude from WV that had his career game against us. He just drove right in and made a lyup to win it. Pathetic.

Yeah, but at least that was in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament and not the first round (loser's round) of the New York Life ACC tournament.

CMM was hacked, no call, which cause him to lose the ball out of bounds and then the refs give us the ball (possibly because they saw CMM was completely hacked)?

We are the ones that got screwed on that play. CMM should have had 2 shots for the tie or win.

Yep, fucking zebras. We didn't play spectacular, but VT got some gifts today.

Man I hate that for Codi.

I want so much for this team to make the NCAA's next year for that guy. He busts his ass and deserves better than 2 years of [Redacted] ball and 2 years of rebuild with nothing to show for it. Every time this team gets something going there's a no-show like Wilbekin, Leonard, and McClinton today to ruin it.

And of course another team shoots 93% from the line against us in a one point loss. Of course.

Sucks for Codi and Devin, they deserved that one.

That is a call you almost never get at the end of the game.
 
Credit to CMM for bringing the team back. No credit for playing poorly for 25 minutes first. That's when we lost the game.
 
At least Crab and Dinos hit some clutch 3s to even give us a chance. I think our freshman showed some good promise this year, looking forward to them stepping up their games even more as sophomores.
