True Detective on HBO

Also... I didn't find the party that bad or creepy

None of the chicks were forced to be there, they seemed pleased to get some dope ass drugs. Rachel McAdams is the one that snuck in and killed two dudes to ruin an otherwise poppin orgy.

the best part about the show has been the cop stuff (even that has been hit or miss) and it's all based on sex parties were local and state politicians put on their gold chains and party with hookers. they are killing people because they are worried that the 95 citizens in vinci won't vote for them again? beyond dumb. the cops are mad that these politicians are high fiving over a some chicks naked bodies and making deals? it's the effing catalina wine mixer.

the personal stuff has been really bad.

If TD is brought back for a third season (and it probably will be since the budget isn't a series killer), I gotta think Nic is limited to executive producer credits and has little to nothing to do with the writing.

I hope it comes back, because I like the idea of an anthology detective series, but I hope that they'll take the time necessary to craft a good 8-episode season. I feel like some of this season's problems may arise from the fact that the first season was such a hit, and they immediately turned to producing a 2nd season that would air just 15 months later. It's hard enough when you're doing a traditional series with returning characters and storylines. Imagine trying to come up with a brand new story from scratch, write, film and edit that motherfucker all in less than the time it takes to build a goddamn grocery store. That's an insanely fast turn around. If Season 3 needs to air in January 2017 instead of September 2016 or whatever, then by all means, take the time and create the best possible product.

On a related note, it will be real interesting to see how this 2nd season of Fargo does, facing the same issue.

I'm really hoping that this season ends with all the main characters dying, and finding themselves reunited in a small chapel similar to the one in the finale of Lost, with our main man Stan waiting there smiling, arms outstretched, ready to guide them into the afterlife.

don't forget the only person back from season 1 was the creator. after seeing most of this season i am more convinced than ever than the director, cinematographer, woody and mcconaughey combined to create something special. pizolatto needs collaborators to reign him in.

Woody and Matt are the executive producers.

Yep. Same reason why most bands' second albums are noticeable dropoffs from their first. The saying goes, "You have your entire life to write your first album, and 18 months to write your second."

cha ching

i'd bet they don't have much input other than cashing checks. probably a part of the the compensation for season one. apparently writer and the director last season did not like each other.

I hope the series returns too, and goes back to a unique location. The backdrop scenery of Louisiana was one of the biggest stars of Season 1....as I and others have mentioned before there are so many cool relatively unknown places in the U.S. to do a series like this besides Southern California. Plus it causes at least a temporary tourism boom for the area after the series airs.

Not all bands though

One way or the other, its over next week.

"And now I'm watching you shit on my carpet" was a pretty solid line.

Of all the bad things about the show, VV, the clunky dialogue, the lack of a sense of humor and terrible jokes, etc etc., I have decided that Kelly Reilly is far and away the worst thing about the show. Just completely unbelievable that some ginger britface would be the wife of a gangster. Weird accent and completely wooden acting. Just the worst.

My wife agrees with your Kelly Reilly hate... Every time she's on screen, I hear an audible groan on the couch next to me.

I, on the other hand, enjoy her cleavage.

Episodes have been getting better, this week I would go so far as to say I felt actively engaged in the plot. However...

Woodrough is down in the tunnels under the city, tunnels so deep and sparse that Holloway even audiblizes "these tunnels go all over the city", and after a mad scramble/shootout (while no doubt lost underground) he pops out at the one set of double doors that Mr. Iwasobviouslythekillerthewholetime happens to be posted guard? That's bullshit! Also, RIP Woodrough, you were a bad ass.

Not sure why he had such an issue with his own sexuality livin in modern day Cali. It ended up killing him in the end.

agree with the Kelly reilly dislike. not tv hot and if she is a good actress it's hidden very well.

the first half of the season was mostly terrible. the second half has improved slightly. if this was season one i would not come back for season two. in this case season three would probably get a short leash for me at this point.

the woodrough shooting was beyond dumb for the reasons that unpredeactable illustrates.

the conflict the entire season has been silly as well. everyone did it to themself.

tim riggins can be blackmailed because he stays closeted. he's closeted so he needs to defend himself against the initial bj charge. he gets played by his old war buddy etc

frank trusts a guy that is backstabbing him because he is too dumb or preoccupied to notice.

ray cultivates an incredible mustache and then cuts it off. hilarity ensues. but he also believed a gangster about the assault on his wife and after killing him becomes a bad person and dirty cop.

ani pushes away every relationship in her life and has no one to help when things go wrong. in her defense she does have a reason after being assaulted as a child because of her father not protecting her.

If Riggins would have embraced his love of dicks then maybe the blowjob accusations would have gone away
