Recommend good stuff you've seen on Netflix streaming

Fuck and yes

Netflix just sent me an email telling me they've just added a movie I might be interested in.

War - starring Jet Li and Jason Statham.

Netflix, you get me.

I watched Wet Hot American Summer. Having never seen it before, I was expecting something culty and campy and that's what it was. Generally harmless with a few good laughs. I watched the movie first and then blew through the series (only 8 eps at less than 30 min each, so they went quickly). The series was pretty much in line with the movie, although it was pretty ridiculous trying to remind myself that these folks are supposed to be 16. It was ridiculous enough in the first movie, but with the series it's almost Benjamin Button-esque.

Recently started the X-Files on Netflix. I had seen a handful of episodes growing up but never really tuned in week to week. I have to say, it has held up pretty well. Some episodes are horrible but others are genuinely creepy/affecting. It isn't nearly as dated as I thought it would be.

I'm almost done with the first season and will probably continue on.

I'm doing the same. I don't mind the monster of the week stuff, but the canon episodes are great.

just started the unbreakable kimmy schmidt last night... watched 8 episodes. big fan.

I watched the pilot and it was raw. It felt like they needed to reshoot it, kind of like the original 30 Rock pilot. Kimmy was decent enough. Titus was unfunny and really dragged down the middle and end. Comedy pilots are typically bad, so I may check it out given the positive reception.

Trying to get to the part of Bojack Horseman Season 1 where it's transcendentally good. So far, the first 3 episodes have been pretty meh, and it's becoming hard to keep Wife interested in the payoff. My understanding is that it's around episode 7 that it begins clicking and becomes awesome.

Titus Andromedon is my spirit animal, I don't get the hate.

I don't know which specific episode but I appreciated Bojack Horseman more as it went along because plot points that seemed one-note became key story arcs. It all came together.

yea that's a major joke in the series

i enjoyed it. dumb, silly humor. all in all very fun. jon hamm should do more comedic work.

yeah, i thought it was pretty awesome. though they could probably basically delete all of michael showalter's scenes. Hamm and Paul Rudd (<3) kill it.

As the series continued, I found myself wanting to see more Monster of the Week episodes. The mythology really starts to unravel (and take over the series) once Mulder and Scully start seeing less screen time.

The x files is my all time favorite show and seasons 2 through 5 are outstanding. Begins to lose its touch a bit and kind of peters out in the last season but overall just a fantastic show that was revolutionary at the time for having a complicated mythology. Clyde bruckmans final repose and Jose Chungs from outer space are probably my favorite stand alone episodes and I can't even pick which mythology episode is my favorite. I am absolutely jacked about the x files returning to tv next year.

The Guest is an awesome genre flick. The third act, especially, was a lot of fun.

I don't know if anybody else felt like this, but every actor reminded me of a famous actor or person (eg the daughter looked like Gwen Stefani, the Guest was like a hybrid of Paul Walker, Captain America and Thor, etc.)

I love me some Eugene Tooms.

just read netflix offers it's employees unlimited vacation (providing they are completing their assignments of course) and are now going to offer a year paid maternity and paternity leave. not bad.
