Roanoke VA Reporter & Cameraman Shot Dead on Live TV

No I think rednecks are clinging to their guns and religion and opposing change in the 21st century.

I mean if people didn't talk about the Charleston shooting then the guy wouldn't have known about it and killed the reporters.

So Sayeth the Obamessiah, so must it be.

I prefer Westerners who cling to their guns, religion and oppose change in the 21st century over the Middle Eastern variety that cling to their guns, their religion and opposing change in the 14th century.

So Sayeth the Obamessiah, so must it be.

I prefer Westerners who cling to their guns, religion and oppose change in the 18th century over the Middle Eastern variety that cling to their guns, their religion and opposing change in the 14th century.

Fixed for originalist accuracy.

Actually, Islam of the 14th century may have been more tolerant than redneck assholes in 2015.

I mean, there are some differences. In Islam, you trade goats for wives. In West Virginia, goats are wives.

It is funny reading some of the leftist sites on Facebook after this compared to Dylan Roof. Night and day.

it's certainly relevant to note that this guy seemed to be a racist and hate/have a vendetta against white people. context matters though, and there is not a history in this country of black people owning white people, then practicing de jure discrimination against them for 100 years, then putting up flags celebrating said ownership and discrimination over statehouses, etc. etc. so yeah, dude had a race vendetta thing going on, but it's hard to argue that it's a symptom of a larger hate/discrimination/racism problem in the larger culture - just the opposite of the Charleston asshat. if he had lived, i would say he should have been charged under hate crimes laws, same as Charleston asshat (but that doesn't mean I think hate crimes laws necessarily make much sense or have any deterrent value).

Just don't think that's it's particularly useful to reduce this to a "see! Black peoples are racist!!!1" conversation

No one is. It's more pointing out your (and others) either denial or straight ignoring the fact that it was racially motivated, at least in part.

And he could have ended his post after the first sentence.

If there is one thing that bobknightfan knows and loves (and does himself), it is getting to the point in one sentence in a clear and concise manner and not pressing on seemingly endlessly with a mini-rant.

It's difficult to explain why some of us don't equate black racism with white racism. I think it's because black racism is usually a reaction (crazy or not) to an oppressive white culture, so there is a level of understanding there, whereas white racism is founded in white supremacy. It's a flawed theory, but it's what I think.

Its not difficult to explain why some of us don't equate black racism with white racism. there has never been prejudices against whites in this country. The only people who try to make that comparison are people who don't like blacks who want to feel better about themselves.

So your argument is that black people were prejudiced against Irish immigrants? No.

Prejudice against Irish people was perpetrated by white people and rooted in white supremacy although with a more restrictive definition of white than we have now.

You just gave another example of their point.
