And basically all the options have a time and place, and there are many good combos.

Chili cheese with bacon bits or just ketchup. Cheese steak dogs (hot dog + shaved/chipped beef, fried onions, & cheese whiz) are pretty good too.

Will do mustard but it's not my top choice.

Do millenials not eat chili cheese dogs?

Cheese was a whiff for me because I was thinking mostly of standalone condiments.

Deep fry Jesse Jones dogs. Bun'em, add mustard, chili and slaw, make it sloppy.
Pour beer in a cheap plastic cup to the brim. You want the beer to wet your hand when you pick it up.
Dog in left hand, beer in right, sit two rows up over the 3d base dugout.

Since the poll said to "specify" other - whatever the hell you want to add, it's just a damn hot dog.

It depends on where I am - my dog orders change dramatically based on location.

In Austria:

mustard and fresh horseradish

or with goulash "juice"

In the USA:

Chicago dog all the way

I picked a combo but if I could only choose one it'd be mustard.

You people are not from around here. Mustard, Chili, Slaw or maybe when going exotic and at a "yankee hot dog joint" kraut and spicy mustard. At Zacks in Burlington we have a glorious thing called a Cheese Dog. That's a block of cheese with toppings like chili and onions. No real hot dog at all and it's glorious. A combo has a dog and cheese and whatever other toppings you say. I suggest chili and onions on that one.

Ketchup goes on your fries. Never on a Hot Dog.

None of those are hot dogs. Folks in Chicago like to pretend they are hot dogs, but pickles, tomatoes, peppers, and whatever that other worldly green stuff is, have no place on a true hot dog.

I'm a bit late the game in appreciating that hot dogs and hamburgers can be eaten in a number of different, wonderful ways, but none of those ways include ketchup or mayo on a hotdog. Fucking gag me with a spoon.

When it comes to hotdogs, mustard, onions, and chili can't be beat. Add cheese if you got it. If I'm somewhere where chili isn't an option, then mustard onions and maybe relish depending on the mood.

If I'm just eating general hotdog, my usual toppings are just a tad bit of mayo...ketchup/mustard on top, then chili and maybe a little shredded cheese.

If it's more of a sausage dog/bratwurst, it's usually just mustard
