Recommend good stuff you've seen on Netflix streaming

I watched Pain & Gain with the Rock and Mark Wahlberg. Decidedly not good, but entertaining. It sounds like it may be based on a true story, if the epilogue is to be believed. If so, that is crazy.

The first episode of Show Me A Hero was really good. I'm hoping that the rest of the season holds up.

I watched the first four episodes. I feel similarly about it as I do about a lot of David Simon's stuff. The procedural elements about working politics is all very well done, great even, and both Oscar Isaac and Alfred Molina are incredible in their roles. I love the Springsteen soundtrack and, for anybody who has been to Yonkers or Mount Vernon, the show does an amazing job at depicting working class Westchester County. That being said, the storylines that involve the future public housing residents are really underdeveloped, borderline cliche, and, just like season 4 of the Wire, put the audience in the position of cynically gambling on which stock character will experience which horrible or middling fate. Everybody is kind of one dimensional in this series, but I hope that the show's second half develops the storylines of the people of color, who really are just kind of embodiments of Simon's/Haggis's liberal guilt at the moment.

Anybody start Narcos yet? I'm going to give that a go this weekend, I think.

Watched the first episode last night.... Almost felt like watching a movie, I thought for a bit that i was wrong about it being a full series

Good start

Season 8 of Dr. Who was recently added. Good news for me since I cancelled a cable package including BBCA when that aired.

It is, but the real story is not nearly as amusing as the movie.

Sister in law had us watch the first two episodes of scrotal recall last night. It was decent.

Is Bloodline worth finishing? I'm five episodes in and I am debating checking out something else instead.

The cast is really great and I love the setting, but something about the dialogue and the choppy-nature of the plot bother me. The murder subplot doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense and I feel like the flashbacks are more distracting at this point than they are suspenseful.

I want to like this show, but I'm on the fence at the moment.

It's not perfect but it gets better. I was pretty cool on it at the same point. Glad I stuck with it.

Watching wentworth, an Australian women's prison show. Kinda like oitnb but much darker and no comedy, just a straight up drama. Really good so far

I love that movie.

I started watching Chuck a few weeks ago. Never saw it when it originally aired but it's not a bad little TV show.

Chuck was good goofy fun. Yvonne Strahovski is always welcome on my tv screen. It didn't end well (meaning the last season or two didn't carry on the earlier mojo) but still a good ride.

I'm still struggling with Sense8 after 8 eps. I should take it to be a sign to give it up if I view it as a chore to continue watching.
