Louisville - Wake Forest Game Thread

Or Williams could have picked up the blocked punt and scored...what if

Meh, it's an oblong ball that bounces funny. Williams is a long way down the list of people to blame - and I don't think you're are blaming him.
Not unreasonable to expect to get from midfield to FG territory.

Between the Dolphins last night and the Deacs tonight this has been a disappointing two nights of football.

I think it's time for the "Dave Clawson Credibility Watch" thread.

At this point Kinal breaking the record is the only good '15 storyline.

We've wasted a good front six since Duke entered the lineup. We may be wasting some good WRs although it seems they have trouble getting open.

Wolford is a trier. God bless him. His tackle after his second or third pick was one of the best QB tackles I've seen. Jason Street would be proud.

Hinton has bigger upside. I hope the staff can fully realize that now. Wolford is a tough kid who has taken a lot of hits. He's not an ACC level starter. Hinton may not be either but he desires the same chance Wolford had last year.

Brilliant to put Kendall in at the end after not playing any of the 2nd half.

3

The number of 2nd half points we have scored on Wolford drives since the Elon game. And that was on a drive that started inside of the BC 10 yard line.

At this point, based on our current QB play, we may very well be seeing two fresh faces at QB next year.

Listened to the Clawson post game interview on the way home from the game. He said he has to coach better in game situations. No shit.

His first adjustment should be to sit Wolford on the bench. He's a good kid but just isn't getting it done.

I am a Clawson fan but am extremely discouraged right now. No way we shouldve lost this game!

Agreed. I'm the first to defend Claw, but tonight he coached a bad game.

Hard for me to say that we win the game if we play Hinton. He didn't play well either

Still, we needed one more field goal. Anything but what we did at the time. Just don't throw a questionable deep ball on 1st or 2nd down when you're in field goal range. Poor play calling and execution. The meltdown at the end of the first half was so wake forest.

Hinton didn't have picks on 3 straight possessions.

I liked the play calling in the first half. We came out aggressive and threw the ball the first 3 plays. Better than friggin runs up the middle.

On the Louisville drive to end the half, we had time outs. Why didn't Clawson call one to settle the defense down?

I was actually okay with the call to throw to the end zone on the last drive. AJ just wasn't open and Wolford threw an awful pass.

Just back from the game. Proud of the way we showed up tonight, the kids played really hard, but that is a game we should've won and it hurts. Other then the end of first half TD the defense gave up, the defense played their guts out. Coming into the game I was scared to death of their QB killing us with his feet, that was basically a non factor. I thought our defense showed some real athleticism in containing Jackson. Same story with the offense, until we get decent Oline play it's going to be a struggle. Great plays by Lewis and Hines on the TDs. Got to feel good about those young guys, along with the other freshman WRs that are shirting this year. Clawson said on the radio Wednesday if the season started now Washington and another one would definitely be playing because of much they've improved during the season in practice.

Tonight just really hurts, 5 turnovers and we lose by one point in position twice to kick field goals to potentially win it and even came up with the huge blocked FG and still couldn't get it done. Had a great chance to get a big win on national TV.

I think if we can see a good amount of improvement in the O line next season, we can be pretty darn good in 2016, because I think if you look everywhere else there is reason to be optimistic. Shame Brandon Chubb doesn't have another year left, he deserves better.
