Hearthstone Thread FTMFW - 4/7 Ashes of Outland release - New Demon Hunter class!

i think i lost 5-6 straight matches with mill rogue and then won once with anyfin can happen and went to bed.

Been playing a lot of Control Warrior lately. Really want to craft Justicar once I get enough for a legendary.

I went ham yesterday. I hadn't spent gold or dust in ~month.

I bought 10 classic packs and 5 TGT packs (the highlight was Onyxia) & I crafted Barron Geddon and Harrison Jones!

I was on turn 9 against a Murlocdin and have no idea if he had Anyfin on turn 10 but I got lucky and top-decked a second rockbiter to do lethal and avoid the drama.

I don't feel bad in the least running the aggro shaman deck. I took it to gold with a burst/tempo deck that I ran for a while and have always been a shaman player. To run the aggro well I think it requires a solid understanding of shaman mechanics to maximize the utility of the deck. Although I'm sure the deck is really frustrating to play against. The aggro shaman v. aggro shaman rush to lethal is fun. I actually end up trading in the first few turns if I can do so in an optimal manner in this matchup to create favorable board control since I know we're both just trying to rush to face in general. In one game against another shaman after I traded, I think he believed I was running something other than aggro and traded back with me but he lost tempo in doing so and two turns later I bursted for like 22 to win.

And you know they aren't running Lightning Storm

I gave serious thought into putting a lightning storm in there in the event that I was unable to get around a taunt or something but figured it would in most cases just be a dead card and waste of mana. If you need to use it you're likely going to lose anyway. Better to just try to top deck lava burst.

Yup.

If you're running into a ton of taunts, I think a second Earth Shock is a better choice. Board wipes are a tempo loss (and against the overall strategy) for face decks.

Also, just run a good mid-range deck if people start tech-ing specifically against Aggro Shaman (which will happen soon).

Yeah I have my burst mid-range ready to go which runs trogg x2, finley, totem golem x2 to set up the same way as the first deck.

I think adding a second earth shock is going to be a requirement (may be now as well). I don't know what to take out of run right off the top of my head though. I love having both 3 mana charge 2/1 divine shields and the 3/1 wolfrider is a great way to have hidden damage to clear a taunt if need be as well as a great body to throw abusives and rockbiters on if need be.

I'm finished with all my matches. It looks like everyone else has at least one - here are the remaining games,

Slim-Knight
Slim-MHB
Doofus-Eagles
Doofus-Knight
Wolverine-Dot Com
Wolverine-Eagles
Knight-Numbers
MHB-Numbers
Redwing-Numbers

Let's wrap this up.

Here are my tournament decklists. I decided to bring 1 tempo deck (and used it as my opener every match), because I figured the amount of pure aggro decks (a distinct weakness) would be non-existent, so that could usually give me the 1-0 lead. The Paladin deck is pretty mid-range-y, but can function as control, and was probably my best deck on paper - I always played this second. And then I finished with my personal favorite & most comfortable deck: Control Warrior. All three decks are a little dated for the current meta, but they are fun to play. Let me know if you have any questions about how I played them, or why I chose specific cards.

Phew. My Tempo Shaman finally got me to rank 10.

Now I'm going to experiment with Reno Paladin.

So I've been playing freeze Mage for the first time the last 3 days and it's gone fairly well. It's a fun deck and makes you strategize. My question is why no Ethereal Conjurer? I run what is basically a standard deck but I have one Conjurer in it. Is there a reason why I haven't seen it anywhere else for freeze Mage? I know it's expensive for what is essentially a draw card, but I like that you can pick the spell you want, and that it's usually midway through the match so you can choose what makes sense as a spell with the flow of the game and opponent.

priest deck for Numbers and others to try:

2x circle of healing
1x flash heal
2x power word: shield
2x northshire cleric
2x zombie chow

1x shadow word: death
2x acolyte of pain
2x dark cultist
2x auchenai soulpriest
1x elise starseeker
1x holy nova

What card do others normally run that you took out for Conjurer?
