News Sources: A Political Divide

I'm not sure this is only true for a subset of politicians in today's media cycle. Also don't think social conservatives pass the small govt eye test.
That's because you view everything through a big government lens....judging by your comments on here. I view all of this through a generational theory/dogma POV so it's a bit different.

IMO the New Deal big government dogma is coming to an end after being the mainstream view for ~80 years. It fixed a lot of problems when it arose and became dominant but it reached a point of diminishing returns. Big government is a harder and harder sell for Dems...not because of bad execution or coaching or conviction...but because it just doesn't work for everything and has created new problems trying. It's fixed what it can fix and will be replaced.

The mainstream media is big government so it supports big government views by both parties, and attacks the opposing ideology as extreme. A change to a new dogma is occurring though, one that will solve our current problems and flip media POVs. The change is why the polarization occurs...and the views of media are so different. I also don't think either side can accept that the New Deal progressive ideology worked up to a point and needs changing. Everything dances around that reality...a lot of hand waving. The New Dealers can't accept the need for change. The libertarians can't sell their ideology if they admit big government solved any problems. Just my take. It's a bit different though..not everyone's cup of tea.

Yeah I mean I also don't think the Bible should be a playbook, so we are definitely on different pages.

At Fox and Fox News, 10 percent of the claims PunditFact has rated have been True, 11 percent Mostly True, 18 percent Half True, 21 percent Mostly False, 31 percent False and nine percent Pants on Fire.

That means about 60 percent of the claims checked have been rated Mostly False or worse. Here’s how it breaks down (as of Jan. 27, 2015)

At MSNBC and NBC, 44 percent of claims have received a rating of Mostly False or worse. The full breakdown:

And as for CNN? It has the best record among the cable networks, as 80 percent of of the claims rated are Half True or better.

You'd think lying about "no go" zones would be a bigger deal than Williams.

But Brian Williams lied doe.

“…We take great pains to present you with information that can be verified…Reporting comes with a big responsibility, the Founding Fathers made that point very clearly. They said to us, ‘We’ll give you freedom. We’ll protect you from government intrusion. But, in return, you, the press, must be honest.'”

So many idiots out there nowadays.

That was awesome teamwork on the David Dinkins "black friend" drop. No way that wasn't planned.

You deny that the tunnels is liberal? I can count the number of conservative posters here on one hand.
