New Era Deacs/ Wake Football Fans

Lectro 'Just because pin-head buddy says something doesn't make it true.'

I would guess that your POV above should possibly apply to you as well?

In any event, I dont understand why you insist on alienating fans of the team you have chosen to adopt. Insulting folks is not a very effective form of persuasion.

Also, have you ever noticed that when someone is somewhat inarticulate or frustrated, they resort to profanity? Generally, the poorer the argument the more likely it is to be laced with profanity. If you really are related to Furman Bisher, you should be better than that.

Finally, life-long (well-educated) Deacons are not going to make unwarranted leaps of faith without cause. We all want our teams to succeed, but it is reasonable to want to see realistic evidence. Ever heard the expression, "Dont tell me, show me!"?

IMO, you would be better served to share your observations and insights and cut back on the childish attacks. If your comments have weight, they will stand on their own. If not, no bluster will prop them up sufficiently.

Just my own thoughts after reading this thread. That and a quarter will get ya a cup of coffee. Carry on.

As much as I despise lectro as a poster, and as much as I hated all of his "fuggin's" and other not-so-clever attempts to get around the profanity filter on TOOS, lectro throwing in "fucking" and "goddamn" in almost every post is even MORE of a reason to hate the guy's posts.

You are going to have do your part to get rid of the fear in your stadium when the game is tight. At present your team plays better in tight games when away... When the game is tight or an unexpected momentum shift happens late the FEAR in Groves Stadium is "palpable"

That is an observable fact and WF fans are going to have to do their part to adjust to Grobe era football.

You don't use profanity...that's super...but I am not here to make a reasoned argument. I've gone that route and have been savaged. So what did I do? I Fucking adjusted my game based on the realities and the constant attacks I have faced for simply being a "Positive" fan.

And another thing there buddy boy, if you are "waiting" for Jim Grobe to prove something or show something to you...well, there's probably not much to be done in your case. I can try to "dynamite" you from your shell and fire l expletives at once but if you are unable to distinguish the last 10 years of Wake Football, wins, competitiveness, goals...frankly you deserve nothing and certainly not any respect from this corner.

So carry on with your Fucking coffee...

Lectro hate stems from the fact that he makes wild and outlandish predictions every season, and then when his predictions go south he's never around. In this way, he seems to come and go according to good times and bad times. This has never stopped him from calling everyone else a bandwagon fan, however.

point taken....I just like the post that have to do specifically about the players on the team because he does seem to have an inside look at them. I also agree with the outlook of the team although I can see how fans need to see it on the field before they buy in. But yea i guess all the other stuff....

Don't buy it Camp.

I've been out here over ten years spreading positive vibes on the team and I have been savaged for it. Therefore, I gave up on the reasoned approach and instead opted for Henry Milleresque shock therapy.

As for posters hating ol' Lec... my purpose is not to be liked...my purpose is too wake your sorry asses up.

We play better in tight games? Aren't we something like 2-6 over the past two years in games decided by less than 6 points? And it wasn't because of the fans (poor execution on both the playing and coaching ends).

No worries...basketball season will be here soon enough.

I'm with Lectro - can't stand the "I'll believe when I see it...but I support the team". That attitude, frankly, isn't very awesome. No better than "I'll give money to the Deacon Club when we start winnning some games blah blah blah".

Being overwhelmingly positive isn't a bad thing folks - get out and support the team you love, scream your head off - if we win, great. If we lose, there's always next week and hope springs eternal.

Stay positive Deac fans. It's a better way to go - trust me.

Good argument.

What do you want from me... you apparently don't know the history of your own football team so how can I possibly help you.

You just sit there like you have all of your life (apparently) and "wait and see"

BTW, "wait and see" is total Bandwagon bullshit.

Bandwagoners don't wait and see, they move on to teams who have had vastly superior performance.

And I know the history. We did extremely well in close games for a couple of years, but more recently have done extremely poorly. You don't get to list it as a strength anymore because it isn't.

You have the attitude of a LOSER.

I think the issue is that we actually do know the history of the football team, more than 5 years worth, anyhow.

We all want Wake to win big and we want it badly. But our hopes rose up and up during the OB season, and have been steadily eroded since.

We'll be there. We'll cheer like crazy. But don't insist we all believe bowls are around the corner.

Me too., keep on preaching Lectro. I've been an ally all along.:)

This.

I think I could actually take last year better if bandwagoneers like Lectro weren't around telling me to "Buck up little camper" as though I have no experience being a fan. That guy is a seven stage doucherocket.

Grobe is actually worse in games decided by 6 points or less and games that go to overtime (23-24) than he is in games that are decided in regulation by 7 points or more (39-36).

You can tell it's football season when Lectro starts smoking the crack pipe while sitting in front of his keyboard. Let's see Lectro questioning people's fandom would be like Hitler participating in an anti- KKK rally.

5-10 in games decided by 7pts or less 2008-2011. (overall 16-21)

we were good in tight games in 2006-2007 - ie, when we were better in all games. (20-7)
