Official '15-16 NBA Season Thread: THEY WON ONE FOR THE LAND

Official '15-16 NBA Season Thread: Cancer sucks.

Putting Giannis at PG is a shrewd move by the Bucks. It would be easier for teams to clear a spot in the lineup to pursue him at SF, PF, or SG but plenty of teams have their PG of the future. They wouldn't risk losing a good player for a PG in progress.

Why would the Bucks playing him at point dissuade other teams from signing him?

Besides what I said?

I'm not sure what you're saying. How often has a team with a franchise PG pursue a max PG? Why would PG Giannis go somewhere he wouldn't likely play PG?

I think you are placing too much emphasis on position, and not enough on coaching or playing style. On offense any player on the court can handle the ball and call plays. There are only a handful of teams with PGs talented enough to dominate the ball handling on their team. Giannis could play for 15 other teams and still run point half the time.

But would he want to be a half time PG?

Yes? His ability to handle and distribute doesn't make him a guard, especially since he can't shoot. He's a point forward. He's clearly becoming a more attractive free agent, not less.

It begins. Spurs to sit leonard (rest, contusion), green, mills, and diaw against memphis at home tonight.

Boban barely played. Timmy had 12 pts, 8 reb, 7 ast in 30 min. LMA with 32 pts in 33 min.

Wolves won a 2OT game in which they went 22-22 from the line. Leads me to believe a single missed free throw would have cost them the game. #neverforgetthethroatslash

And we begin the 2 1/2 week march to the playoffs with the Spurs not giving a damn about playing their starts in any given game no matter the opponent. Those GS/SA games are going to be so underwhelming. I'll say it again the NBA was stupid to back load the schedule just for this reason. Put those games in Dec and you've got two teams playing full strength.

Will the Spurs defend their homecourt record? Will they try to take down the Warriors' record?
