good grief. Muslim =/= Islamic radical terrorists.

ffs people, you can't deny an entire religious group from entering this country! every stupid thing you post makes me want to bang my head against the wall, because it is AMAZING to me that an educated individual can't grasp what is SO UNBELIEVABLY WRONG with thinking that is a truly viable solution to the issue of terrorism.

I'll put it in a way that you might be able to grasp: the bad guys are inextricably mixed together with the others. Furthermore, many of the most dangerous ones only emerge later.

I'll put it in a way that you might be able to grasp: you just described every fucking society on earth. There are bad people in the world. Period. You don't get to exclude an entire religion from this country (the irony!!) and the opportunities here because there might be a bad guy in the bunch.

Not so sure about this. I agree that it would be great to deport those that do not provide a value-add to the economy, but I have been able to see firsthand the benefit of illegal labor - given the fact many agricultural concerns depend on illegal workers to fill labor needs that would otherwise be passed over. And it is not so easy to say, raise the wage for these agricultural workers to attract "US citizen labor" (even if I think it should be) because the simple truth is the economics as they currently exist would result in pass-throughs to consumers just for agri firms to make a reasonable rate of return... so as a vegan, I am sure you are willing to spend 2x for your California-grown peppers and Florida-grown produce... but feel comfortable knowing that all the illegals are deported...

Under what authority would this be improper? I'm no expert in immigration law, but I don't think potential immigrants would be entitled to any Constitutional protections. Is there some treaty that would preclude this?
 
I'd be fine with a muslim ban if it got youngBKF extradited to a country that does not have internet access.

Let's assume that's true for a second (it's not) it still wouldn't justify banning 1.6 billion people from our country. That would be an absurdly overbroad solution, especially when compared to the size of the problem.

I mean if you are going to advocate for blatant, widespread profiling of a group of people because <1% might pose a threat to the U.S. at least come up with an effective profile.

It has nothing to do with Constitutional protections or a treaty (to my knowledge)... just the basic human compass of what is right/wrong when determining grounds for excluding a person from an opportunity. It is truly pathetic to me that anyone could believe a blanket ban of Muslims is truly in the best interest of a situation, or be so short-sighted to not recognize the potential global repercussions/animosity from acting so ignorantly.

every fucking society on earth is infested with Islamic radical terrorism hell bent to destroy western and every other non Muslim civilization? we're in a load of trouble. maybe we all better buy guns :)

How would you determine this? Asking immigrants to identify their religion? Once we announce we're not letting any more Muslims in, won't they just start checking "Sikh"?
