Official 2016 Republican National Convention thread

How is removing restrictions on energy policies going to help the miners AND the steelworkers?
 
So he's going to spend a ton of infrastructure to create government jobs despite having the largest tax cuts. Yeah OK.

Trump needed to appear presidential, but he just doesn't have it in him. A referendum on Clintons is his only path to victory, but he relishes doing the trashing himself rather than rising above it. Way too into the weeds on xenophobia and bigotry and tossing red meat to the already converted.

Ivanka's by far the most talented Trump, so she should have had an extended stand alone convention speech. She's the only Trump who even attempted to pivot to the center for a general election campaign. Should have used her sister to introduce their dad.

Completely agree. I've been a lifelong republican (including spending six years of my career working for the party). A small part of me really wanted to come out of this week liking this guy but fuck this noise. Not my party anymore. I am out for good.

i mean in this speech alone he said he's going to balance the budget, drastically cut taxes, and spend way more money.
 
Trump is making classic Republican and Democrat promises with a Republican budget.

The math doesn't work.

Well said; haven't voted Dem since '72. While I have the luxury of not doing so again in '16 since I live in NJ and my vote means shit; this asshole has set our Party back 10 years.

Do you think walls, Muslim immigration bans, trade wars and such appeal to the middle and moderate voters, the answer is no. He has pivoted from letting himself get sucked into the crowd hysterics but same message being said
