Tim Pro Life Pro Trade "Korrupt" Kaine (yawn)

I wish people wouldn't look at voting as an exercise to determine who most closely matches your own ideas. It's a small exertion of power towards a desired outcome. Especially in a first-past-the-post voting system.

You're seriously gonna argue Bernie and Hillary are almost identical politically? I just figured you were being disingenuous but if you're serious that's nonsense.

i never argued that. i stated a fact about their voting records and you brought up that straw man.

Even in a polarized 113th Senate, the most liberal senator and 41st most liberal senator are not the same. The space between the two comprises 40% of the body and Kaine just signed a letter asking the CFPB to basically not do its job. Warren would never do that.

That said, LBJ advanced a lot of liberal priorities that wouldn't have been predicted by his senate DW NOMINATE rankings after ascending to the presidency.

When I said Kaine and Warren had very similar voting records in the Senate, it's because they did. The govtrack methodology is different and uses bill sponsorships and cosponsorships and I hadn't seen it before. That said I don't dismiss it off hand, but it hardly shows Kaine to be even a centrist.

eta: Or the voteview methodology i just clicked on the link, thought you were referring to the govtrack data.

I'm a big fan of public schools, but I'll admit there's a difference in VA Gov and President and the security options a public school and high-end private school provide.

And DC public schools.

It would cost a fortune in security to send a President's kid to a public school in DC. It would be a nightmare.

True. Congress still needs to get off its ass and put some money into those schools.

the very page you linked to show he's a rock solid democrat. ffs, he's been compared to cheney and jack kemp on this thread.

if not liberal enough is your only attack on kaine who's been a public servant for decades, then he's done something right. and if not liberal enough is your excuse for not voting for the clinton/kaine ticket when the other option is actual authoritarianism, your liberalism is just narcissism.

He hasn't been compared to Cheney. My travel addled brain forgot that the 90s were 20 years ago. Cmon, man.

i forgot who posted it, i read the thread and saw some discussion of this being the equivalent to the 2004 republican ticket and then the 1996 republican ticket. both are pretty ludicrous. Kaine himself is more liberal than al gore, and hillary's record is more liberal than bill and kerry actually.

Comparisons to the 1804 election just don't seem very apt to me.

It was Strickland. I showed about a dozen major policies that Hillary and Kaine that each would have been to liberal for the GOP in either 96 or 04. As he usually does when shown to be empirically wrong, he disappeared and didn't admit it.

But you are absolutely correct in your position.

What's "funny" is that after being given about a dozen examples you can't admit you are completely wrong. Just like always.

Why can't you admit it? Ever? I'm not the only one saying you are wrong.

Why can't you look at the examples?

You make preposterous statements; are shown to be wrong; change the parameters; are shown those are also wrong and then try to laugh it off.

But you are really becoming PHjr on steroids. that's not a good thing.
