General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

So who agrees with Trump that wind energy is killing too many birds? birdman needs to know who he's dealing with, here.

Those wind turbines do actually kill a bunch of birds. I have a cousin who works for Dominion VA Power who was joking with me a few years ago that they get more environmental blowback from proposed wind turbines or a nuclear plant than they do a proposed coal plant.

Don't sleep on Darrell Castle, cause that dude looks like he means business. Is he the Larouche candidate?

Lot of people seem close to W/J 2016. It isn't just an internet quiz, but experience in governing.

J/W 2016.

Upper 60th/low 70th percentile I would bet is a lot of the "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" crowd. And GJ is close, but where he's off, he's quite far off. If the libertarian party was serious about winning an election, they'd really focus on that demographic.

This is the 2nd time you've said this, and it ain't true. Clinton has been a very involved 1st lady, senator and SOS. Kaine has been a governor and senator, and I think he's been on foreign affairs. That blows your 2 governors with no national governing experience away. And the biggest thing that concerns me about Johnson is his lack of foreign policy experience and rather isolationist views.

Gary just reminds of that middle school class president who wants to make everyone happy with free chocolate milk and candy in the vending machines. His social views are all over the place. Not saying that I don't agree with pretty much every one of them, but he'll never be able to build a consistent base around him. The right wingers will freak out over his abortion stance while the gun control libs will freak over that stance and so forth. I'd like to see him get in the debates though...Could really mix some stuff up if he's on the ballot.

I want to apologize to the rest of the board. Moon's viscous, personal attack couldn't be left without a response.

I am sorry that he felt the need to do that. There's no place for such unprovoked actions.

Hopefully, this will be it. I have no desire for it to continue.

Uh oh, RJ's original post disappeared. Weird.

Here, let me melp:

Of course all bird death is tragic and should be always avoided, but to say that wind power is "killing all your birds" is a stretch. I posted this last week: http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/a...gs-are-bigger-threat-to-birds-than-wind-power

If environmentalists were truly concerned about bird populations they would launch a full scale nation wide feral and out door cat extermination program. Wind turbines are pretty far down the list of major threats. By some estimates, cats kill 3 billion birds annually in North America, wind turbines take out about 300k. Now I suppose some wind projects in specific locations could be especially problematic, eg you wouldn't want to put a big old wind farm on the out skirts of Aransas National Wildlife refuge, where about 50 of the worlds last 200 whooping cranes spend the winter, but, in general, there are much bigger issues for birds.

Many of these birds move freely between borders of canada and mexico sorry but i dont feel sorry for their deaths

I didn't say "all the birds". But I'm cool with exterminating the cat population, especially given that I'm allergic, if you let us exterminate all the Canadian geese in the Cville area. They shit all over my golf course and are nasty mean. We of course appreciate the egrets, blue herons, redwing blackbirds, cardinals and occasional gold finches. But the geese suck.

Two things:
1) of course you didn't say "all the birds" only an idiot would say that. Trump said it.

2) it's "Canada Geese" not "Canadian Geese". And, they are a nuisance in many locales but there're protected under the international migratory bird act and it is very hard to mess with them. There are increasing efforts to control local geese populations, but unfortunately the geese that actually do still migrate to Canada are experiencing pretty sever declines so wholesale goose slaughter is not ideal.

I've never been involved with Moonz employer or reached out for information about Moonz to anyone. I simply don't care that much. To the extent that Moonz gets trash talked, that's just what he's brought upon himself. I would never reach out to an employer about anything. Maybe if there was clear cut evidence of employment discrimination by someone who owned a business and overtly admitted to intentionally skirting the law, I'd contact someone in the area who was in the legal field with the tangible evidence but not anything related to whatever Moonz is doing on here.

birdman is killing it.
