Official Wake / Tulane Game Thread

What was that time management? Is Lobo still calling plays?

I'm on board with Clawson the program builder. I'm not on board with Clawson the game coach, not yet.

Please don't tell me your defending this coward

I'm glad that he can suck a recruit's dick dry, but fuck this is awful.

That wasn't a defense. Just saying he wouldn't have called a TO at all if there wasn't a free 14 seconds left for the punt.

Clawson is dumb. Call a fucking t.o.

Play calling and game management has been pretty shifty by coaching staff in the first half.

and in other area games...............

App St 7 Tennessee 3

Louisville 35 Charlotte 0 (midway thru Q2)

Agreed. The offense has no rhythm. The clock management is just poor. He's playing scared of a team we're favored to beat by 17.

Just plan the entire scheme around a blocked punt. Those happen often.

Things I'd like to see in the second half:

1. Pick a QB to run the entire drive - I don't even care who at this point, but pick one guy and stick with him for the possession
2. Load the box. Tulane can't pass worth shit. At all. Make them beat you in the air and when they can't, you'll force some turnovers
3. Just any semblance of reasonable clock and game management from the staff.

That was the half we feared would happen and would be right to expect. We look way too tentative for a home team against an outmatched opponent. Like we're trying to protect a win that we've already counted toward our bowl tally.

Wake leads total yards 116-103 and the game 7-3. That about sums up this one. Not much analysis necessary beyond that.

My problem with wolford is his continued inability to lead the offense on scoring drives.

Only half way through game one of twelve. Not a great start, but plenty of time to get our legs under us and figure out where and what we are as a team. Need a strong second half here.
