Got it. Curious mostly and I see TONS of openings for stuff out there.
You should definitely move to Oregon.

Ours is at 8.9% so it's potentially possible.Oh man, if we're looking at pre-tax gross, I'm currently spending 8% on housing. It's awesome. It's also not sustainable (I'm not going to have two roommates forever) so I'm enjoying it while it's here.

My state retirement system takes 11.48% of my pretax income which makes me salty.
Ours only takes 6. But currently my time doesn't "count" because I am in a temp contract position so I am still 2 years from being vested, which means I am super salty because I basically needed that 6% now.My state retirement system takes 11.48% of my pretax income which makes me salty.
dang, do you know what their contribution is? NC takes 6% out automatically and the local governments contribute 7.25% for the current fiscal year. Not sure what the state does.
State matches the 6 (if I remember correctly)dang, do you know what their contribution is? NC takes 6% out automatically and the local governments contribute 7.25% for the current fiscal year. Not sure what the state does.

I unabashedly love when RJKarl hits someone on the politics board with a string of parallel sentences. Definitely one of his fave rhetorical devices.
RJ when you do it do you feel like the guy in the fight straddling the other guy just delivering punch after punch after punch? Like Will Hunting did to the dude on the basketball court?
I spend 0% on housing costs ftw, no rent free housing ftw. I do want to buy a house around here and rent it out at some point though.
And you need 5 years to vest, typically, but I got the big administration to sign off on me keeping my four years. #WorkTheSystem
