Official November 8, 2016 Election Day Thread

It's weird to me how many Trump voters, even the ones on this board who are certainly more educated than the majority of his voters, seem to think that he is going to tax the rich more and increase wall street regulations when he has promised in writing to do the exact opposite of those things.

Actually as a real estate guy he's probably going to fuck the wall streeters all to hell #notallrichpeoplearealike

To elaborate, he's the ultimate ego guy. His whole persona is based on him being the ultimate businessman. Everyone on wall street has outperformed him for 20+ years. This will be his revenge (ending their crooked cronyism). Wall Street is projecting downward for a reason. He's basically going to take down pretty much every successful businessman whose made billions that isn't him. And as much as you guys think that's bad, that's going to be a good thing for this country. Tackling the income inequality issue is really the #1 issue our country faces, and Hillary has profited off that every 250k speech she's had for the past 10 years building up her own wealth.

I feel dirty saying this....but preach Palma

I will personally lose a good chunk of a change, but fuck those crooked mother fuckers.

How is he going to do that though? He already said he will get rid of Dodd Frank and cut regulations "massively." That plus massive tax cuts for the rich doesn't strike me as a great way to curb income inequality.

Where is the free loader deacspop who let his son steal from college kids who were excited about the orange bowl

PAYPAL!!!

I'm right here asshole. Licking my wounds but hopeful that sanity prevails. And that freeloader is now a 4th year Med Student interviewing at Duke or UVA next week for his residency beginning next year and doing fine, thanks for asking.

Palma is right

The downside is wallstreet isn't going to take it laying down, and are going to threaten global economic collapse to preserve the status quo. And we'll probably get there. Although, really if Trump stays true to his twitter trolling roots, he may be able to convince people to upend the wall street folks entirely. Either way, there will be a collapse, but I think Trump can pull off blaming it on the rich assholes and get us to throw em all in jail, which most of them should be.

Alex Castelleanos made a great point that for all the silliness and ambiguity of #MAGA, Hillary never delivered a consistent vision for her campaign.

True. The most cohesive vision was laid out by Republicans, a third term for Obama.

AP just called Pennsylvania for Trump. Dunzo.

He'll just do it, ok. It's just a deal. He'll just make deals.

He wants to cut business taxes to bring jobs back here, with the hope/idea it will raise the median wage. Maybe it works, maybe it's just trickle down gone wrong that does nothing. I suspect he'll want to cut the regulations down in the industries he knows, and he'll want to fuck over and add regulations to the industries that have outperformed him (wall street).

You missed my point. I thought the number of people going against trump would negate the additional people he was bringing out on his side. Many of my college friends who voted pub in the past refused to do so in this election. But hey, I was so so wrong.

I hate to break this to you, but they voted for Trump. They just didn't want to admit it.

Clinton will easily win the popular vote with most precincts in California still not voting

Most of those jobs are low wage jobs. Need to focus on being the leader is new industries
