Video Game Thread - $70 Zelda Expansion!

Thought Metal Gear Solid V for $11 on Amazon for XBone was decent.

just finished EV training an adamant mimikyu i'm super happy with

need to figure out who my #2 and #3 are gonna be. right now i'm running tapu bulu and incereroar. tapu bulu is pretty dominant, and grass/fairy is a nice pairing, but i wouldn't mind swapping out incereroar for an interesting water or dragon type. i have an aerodactyl and a salamence i'd like to EV train, but i don't know how they'd stack up stats-wise. might try to find a dratini at some point. also have an adamant araquanid i might try to turn into a tank?

Now I regret getting this for my kids.

This post is nuts. Made me laugh.

The wife and I are both hooked on Skyrim, she's put a lot more time into it than I have. It's such a pretty game, and I love the music and Nordic influences.

Videogame remasters are marketing genius.

It's kinda weird to think my kids will be able to play up-rezzed versions of games or old school games and nto really think much of it. Like hopping in '64 mustang with power steering and AC

To show the power of the boards, I just bought Rocket League (now on sale at Steam for $11.99, I got GOTY edition for 15) based solely on RSF's endorsement on this thread. Now it'll sit in Steam with the "Install" button showing for a while as I go through the trio of Bethesda games I bought a week or so ago (plus, of course, Civ VI).

I am closing in on 200 hours of RL now, it's so friggin' good and fun and I love it so much

I don't know if I'd recommend the GOTY version or not. IMO the only DLC really worth getting so far is the Supersonic Fury pack, because the Dominus is the best car evar (FIGHT ME BROS), and the Takumi is the best looking one if you care about that sorta thing. I guess if you know you're going to like the game (and you will), then, sure, it makes sense from a cost perspective since the GOTY edition is a lower price than the regular edition + that one DLC pack.

So I guess I'd recommend the GOTY version.

Speaking of cars, I really want a new Burnout. Played a little bit of Paradise last night and that's still a good game. Probably my favorite series after FF.

DC - If you have any friends at Criterion, e-mail them and tell them to get to work for me.

I have been playing a lot of RL lately with a friend that just picked up the game. It is not fun when one player absolutely blows and you lose almost every single game. GET BETTER FASTER.

shouldn't the friend bring down the matchmaking so that you either just totally wreck faces, or the other team has a similar 1 gud + 1 not gud structure? are you all playing competitive?

That's my main concern whenever I pick up a multi-player game, especially one that's been live for a while. I did make sure RL had a solo mode for me to start off with.

As for the value of GOTY vs regular edition of RL, I'm high roller enough that I'll shrug off the $4 marginal cost even if it's not that much better.

I'm not sure. Folks move around too much. I'd love a new Burnout. Takedown was a personal fav of mine. Sadly, I don't see it happening.

Anyone else tried Let It Die? Boy, is that a thing. Free to play on PS4, kind of like a Dark Souls game, but not exactly. All kinds of style, though.

Should I play Uncharted 4 or Last of Us first?

I started it and played the into, but have had zero video game time. Seems interesting.

i have enjoyed the uncharted series (and multiplayer can be pretty fun). however, i have been having difficulty maintaining interest in u4. certainly good but there is too much dialog and walking slowly during some interaction/exposition. i think i am 1/3 or more through so maybe the action picks up.

last of us was a really good game. story and action worked really well together. that has a multiplayer as well but i did not log much time there. as i recall it was a little different from the uncharted style.

sum it up you probably can't go wrong. however, i'd go last of us and you won't regret it.

I'm thinking about buying an old PS3 just to play it. I've had an xbox since they came out, so I figure between Last of Us, Journey, Uncharted, and Ico I'll get my $200-300 worth.
